This chapter is in past too.

Akriti stood outside the club, her heart racing in her chest. She had asked Kiran to let her see her son for a few minutes, hoping that maybe, just maybe, everything Kiran had said about Yash being with Arya wasn't true. Maybe Yash had really gone to see Amrit, just like he told her.

But deep down, she knew better. She just didn't want to believe it.

Her breath quickened as she stepped inside the dimly lit club, loud music pulsating around her, but it all blurred into the background. Her eyes scanned the room, her body tense, as she searched for Yash.

Please... let her be wrong just this once.

Please.

But no. There he was, sitting with Arya, laughing —laughing!- like he didn't have a care in the world. His smile, the same smile he used to give her, was now aimed at the woman who had ruined everything.

He lied to her again. He swore on their son, on Aditya...

How could he?

The betrayal felt like a punch to her gut. That was it. That was the last straw. Akriti's fists clenched at her sides as her vision blurred with tears. She felt her chest tighten with anger and hurt written.

Every fiber of her being wanted to march over there, scream at him, slap him; anything to make him feel the pain she was feeling. How can he do this?

After everything?

After she gave him a second chance?

But instead of confronting him, she turned on her heel and walked back outside, her entire body trembling. She didn't have the strength to confront him. Not right now. Not like this. She felt the weight of her broken heart in her chest, like it might tear her apart if she let it.

As she stepped out into the cool night air, her breathing was shaky, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she tried to hold herself together. She took a few deep breaths, trying to hold back the tears. Kiran, who had been waiting outside with Aditya, looked at her with concern.

"Everything okay?" Kiran asked gently, not realizing the storm that was brewing inside Akriti. "Maybe it's just a misunderstanding. That woman could just be a friend."

A friend?

Is this what friends do? Akriti thought bitterly.

She swallowed hard. She already knew the truth. But she didn't have the energy to explain everything to Kiran. How could she explain this mess? How could she admit out loud that Yash, her husband, had been cheating on her again?

She forced herself to nod. "Thanks," she whispered, her voice barely audible as she took Aditya from Kiran. Don't cry, not in front of Kiran. Just hold it together for a few more minutes.

She hurried away, her car moving faster as if she could outrun the pain. But it followed her, hanging over her like a dark cloud. By the time she reached home, her tears were falling freely. The moment she stepped inside the house, it was like the walls collapsed around her.
