So what can I do?

Old days ahead,

Yash's heart raced as he saw Akriti's horrified expression. Time seemed to stretch endlessly as she stood at the door, frozen, shock and hurt written all over her face.

He wanted to rush to her, explain, beg her to understand, but she turned abruptly and began to walk away, her footsteps echoing down the corridor.

She had no power in her to confront him.

Desperation clawed at him. He sprinted after her, but she was already heading for the elevator. "Akriti, wait!" He shouted, his voice cracking with urgency.

The doors began to close, and Yash pushed himself through, managing to catch a glimpse of her retreating figure before the doors slammed shut.

He raced back to his car, his breath ragged, and slammed the door behind him. His mind was a whirlwind of fear and regret. The fear of Akriti finding out what he had done, the fear of losing her forever - it was unbearable.

He had to get to their home before she could leave, to explain everything before it was too late. The weight of his mistake pressed down on him, his thoughts a jumbled mess of panic. He sped down the road, his knuckles white on the steering wheel, praying he wouldn't be too late.

As Yash chased after Akriti, Arya remained in the office, grappling with her own conflicted emotions. The passionate moment she had shared with Yash was still fresh in her mind, but so was the sight of him rushing after his wife.

She had hoped that Akriti's discovery would clear the path for her, but now, she was left with an unsettling mix of emotions.

Why didn't he stay?

He should've been with her.

She was the one who stood by him during his lowest, not his wife.

Her thoughts spun in circles. On one hand, part of her felt a twisted sense of satisfaction knowing that Akriti had discovered their affair. Maybe it would mean an end to Akriti and Yash's marriage, and a chance for her.

But on the other hand, the sight of Yash's desperate run for his wife made her question the nature of their relationship. She was filled with a mix of jealousy, sadness, and regret.

Is this really what I wanted?

For him to be torn apart like this?

Why did it have to be so complicated?

She wanted him to be with her, but not like this. Not with so much pain.

Arya sat on the couch, her mind spinning with the implications of what had happened. She couldn't deny her feelings for Yash, but she also knew that their relationship was marred by betrayal and deception. As much as she wanted to be with him, she was conflicted about the circumstances under which it had come to pass.

She glanced at her phone, hoping for some sign, a message from Yash maybe. But it remained silent. The thought of reaching out crossed her mind, but she hesitated.

What would she even say?

Would it change anything?

As Yash pulled up to his home, his stomach churned with anxiety. Akriti's car was still parked outside, and his heart sank further. He rushed up the steps, his breath coming in short, frantic bursts.
