Regan Barnes
I was seventeen when I got recruited for the army's special training. I couldn't say no because it always was a dream from me. I wanted to save people with a smile. It was in Russia, so my parents had to book a flight to there. The morning of the day, I stood before my mirror and tried to choose a good outfit. It took me some time, but I grabbed a good outfit. I was wearing a green hoodie with a white t-shirt underneath it. I also had black shorts on. I ran downstairs when I was fully ready. My parents weren't really talkative, so I didn't say anything either. After a really good breakfast, my father stood up.
"Ready?" I nodded and grabbed my stuff.
They didn't want to come, they thought it was too dangerous to be in a whole different country. It was a heartbreaking farewell.
"You sure you want to go?" Mom asked with tears in her eyes.
"Yeah, otherwise I can't become a great soldier." I hesitated a little when I saw my father crying. He came closer to mom and me.
"We will miss you, Regan." Those words were the limit. I couldn't keep it dry, I started to cry my eyes out while holding mom and dad.
"Please be safe and write every week." Mom said.
"I will mom." I laid my hand on her shoulder. "Everything is going to be okay."
"Flight 95 to Russia is about to leave, passengers please step aboard."
It was time. I kissed them both goodbye and stepped on the plane. Come on Regan, pull yourself together, you will definitely see them again. Or so I thought. It was long flight, so I thought about my experience with combat. I'm already doing every fighting sport I can for 15 years now. My parents weren't too happy when they heard that I wanted to do that when I was two, but they accepted it and let me join. I've been unbeatable since I'm 12, you could say I'm at the level of a superhero.
The plane landed when I was producing plans for the army. I stepped outside and enjoyed the view. But it didn't last long, I had to walk further. The army can't wait. I didn't even have to order a taxi, there were man in black suits standing at the exit with a bord with my name on it. I went to them, and they ordered me to step in the car.
"Well hello Regan." A voice said, it was the man next to the driver. I couldn't see anything from him, I could only see his back. he had a green suit, a kind of dark green.
"And who may you be?" I asked politely, I didn't want to sound rude.
"Call me Stephen, Stephen Von Doom." He answered. What a weird name, doesn't sound so good to me. He went on.
"I'm a great scientist and an excellent warrior, but I need your help, Regan." He turned around. I couldn't see his face; he had a mask on. It was a metal mask. I could see his eyes though. They were bright green but had an intimidating look.
"Can you be more specific?" I replied, kind of scared.
"We want to evaluate a new serum on you. It's supposed to greatly increase your physical abilities and healing abilities. I think this would be pretty useful to you, Regan." I looked in shock.
"What? I'm not a test subject for you to just recruit even if this new serum sounds pretty neat." I replied angry. I tried to break out, but the doors were locked. Shit.
"You really don't have a choice darling." He said. I didn't like the way he said it. There was some kind of gas coming from his seat.
"W-what is that?" I asked him.
