Maximus Romanoff
This is a whole mess to be fully honest. First, we are trying to find a super soldier and the next second we are trying to find any thieves or criminals. I was dissociated in the middle of the conversation earlier. It was too much for me to take in, but still, here we are, searching for pathetic thieves and criminals.
I looked over to the girls that were walking in front of me. Hope and Regan. Both have really immense potential and a lot of courage. They were talking to each other; I wasn't listening to their conversation. I was watching them. But I wasn't just watching them, I was reading their mind. I didn't tell my sister, but I was training my mind reading skills and even tried manipulating some of them, without any success. My sister knows we can do it, but she said to me it is too dangerous. But I didn't listen as always.
Hopes mind was full of hope, ironic, isn't it? After she heard Regan say there were more superhumans, hope was the only thing she could think about. Before that, there were a lot of other things she thought about. Her grades, how I thought about her, the Darkhold, getting into a relationship, our parents looking down on me, the pressure of school, but the feeling which was overpowering was her thinking everyone looked down on her. But since she knew about the superhumans, everything changed. She didn't care anymore; her brain was pure hope.
Even if I wasn't listening to their conversation, I knew Hope was asking more about the other superhumans. Without success ofcourse, but she still tried. And that is what inspires me. Having the perseverance to keep going and avoiding obstacles. I hope I will become someone like her, no, I hope I will be even better than her.
I looked over to Regan.
"That won't work, kid. I have been trained to keep people like you out of it." She said. She turned around, Hope did the same, but she had a confusing look on her face.
"What do you mean?" She asked her. She looked at her then at me.
"Your little brother over there tried to read my mind." She said with a smirk.
"Guilty."
"But why? We agreed to not to." Hope said.
"We also agreed about training together, didn't we?" I asked her furious. She became silent. "Let's discuss this later, shall we? I don't want to be the party pooper here." I said walking further.
Regan and Hope followed me. We walked for quite some minutes, and I was thinking about going back to home. So, I turned around and walked back to where we came from, Hope following me.
"Wait! I've detected something." Regan said looking around sensing were it could come from.
"Is it a superhuman?" Hope asked her, running back to her. I was slowly walking towards them.
"Even better, it's two." Hopes face lit up.
"Let's go then!" She screamed and walking in a random direction.
"It's the other way." I said.
"I knew that I was just testing you."
"No, you weren't." She gave me the finger and ran towards our next goal. Regan and Hope were having a race and I was just slowly running behind them. As we were coming closer and closer to buildings, we heard a noise. It was thunder. I looked up, but I didn't see any lighting. we stopped running and started to walk closer towards the skyscrapers.
"Maybe it is a coincidence?" Hope said to us.
"I don't think so. What else could I have detected then?" As the two girls were arguing whether it was a coincidence or not, I saw a young man flying in the air. I could see he was charging up to do something. I was too far to mind read him.
