Detective Reeves (Supergirl/OC)

Chapter 6

"Goodbye" I said hanging up before she could say anything else. "So we need a plan." I said looking at the girls but they are both giving some kind of look that I just can't explain. "What?" I ask them.

"We need to find a way into Lord Industries." Alex says and I nod.

"Well obviously you two can't go in." I say bluntly but both girls agree.

"You can't go in there by yourself." Kara says. She cares too much about people. Or maybe I care too little. Nah.

"I think I have a plan for that." I say smirking.

"Enlighten us please." Alex says leaning forward. I hold my finger up as I dial the one person I knew could help.

"Hey, Jellybean." I hear over the phone and I genuinely smile.

"Hey, Kenz. I need a favor." I tell her.

"Anything for my favorite person in the world." She says and I chuckle. I swear she's the only person who could make me feel like my old self again. Kenzie was my best friend and the only person I haven't slept with. I would never sleep with her I love her too much like a sister for that.

"I need you for an undercover operation." I tell her.

"Just like old times." She squeals and I laugh.

"Just like old times. When do you come in?" I ask her. She had contacted me yesterday saying that she found a ride and I didn't have to drive all the way to come get her. I wasn't complaining.

"Mmm." She says thinking. "Two days. I almost finished packing." She says and I smile.

"Perfect. When you come in we'll go over the plan." I tell her. "I'll also move some things around so you'll room for your stuff at my place." I tell her.

"Thanks, baby." She says.

"You're welcome, babygirl." I said before we clicked off the phone. "Okay so now I won't be alone." I tell them going back to my blank demeanor.

"Who was that?" Alex ask seemingly annoyed.

"Kenzie. We went on a shit ton of missions way back when before I became a detective." I tell them truthfully.

"So is she a cop or detective?" Kara ask me and I burst out laughing. I'm laughing so hard that my face and stomach hurt. The girls are looking at me curiously. I sigh out happily.

"Thanks I needed that laugh." I tell them.

"So if she isn't a cop then what is she?" Alex asks.

"She's of no concern." I tell them and I know Alex is fuming. "Don't worry." I assure her. "I trust Kenzie with my life and she trust me with hers." Kenzie and I go way back.

20 years old.

I was working temporally as a bar tender because the tips were good and I was ready to skip town. That's when I noticed her. She had jet black hair and she was kinda gothy. She was also a pickpocket. No one noticed but me. She came up to the bar and started flirting with some guy. He ordered them both drinks and when she turned around I could've sworn that he slipped something in it. They both cheered and downed the drink.

She started getting woozy so he helped her leave the building and into the elevator. Fuck I couldn't leave her like that. I took money out of the register and dipped. I was leaving town anyway.

I saw the elevator about to close but I stopped it with my hand and slipped inside. The guy mumbled something in annoyance under his breath as he held the girl. "Hey, are you alright?" I ask her.

"She's fine." He says blankly.

"I asked her." I said eying him down. He smelled of alcohol and gym socks. Douche.

"Help." I barely hear her say before she collapsed onto the floor. The guy tried his hardest to catch her but we all know how dead weight is.

"She's fine." He says but it sounds like he's trying to convince himself if I'm being honest.

"Shut the fuck up." I growl out and he looks taken aback.

"And if I don't?" He says puffing out his chest. Oh he wants to play games. I quickly wrap my hands around his throat and slam his puny body against the elevator wall.

"You will never harm another person again." I said before kicking him in between his legs. He grunts out and I squeeze his neck. He tries to speak but I'm squeezing too tight. I let go of him and he fell to the ground on his knees wheezing.

"I'm sorry." He struggles to say.

"Sorry isn't good enough." I say getting in his face. I back up and punch him in his face knocking him out. Something over took me and I reached down and snapped his neck. To my surprise the girl groggily started speaking.

"My head." She groans out. Then she looks at me and at the man on the ground who was clearly not breathing. She widens her eyes and gasps. "Oh my god did you kill him?" She yelled out.

"I think so." I said fully not believing it. I never killed anyone before.

"No one's ever killed for me before." She says in awe.

"Well I've never killed for anyone before. Or killed at all before." I tell her rubbing the back of my neck.

"I'm Mackenzie but you can just call me Kenzie." She says as I help her up.

"I'm Jordan, Jordan Tate." I say to her smiling.

——————————————————————————-That was the start of our friendship. Funny enough Kenzie got kidnapped after that in Midvale and of course I went in there to save her. We did some freelance work for money before I was recruited. Kenzie didn't wasn't for following the law which I don't blame her for. But now that I have my own office and she was willing to return since we technically would be doing our own thing once again.

"Oh that reminds me. Kenzie will be working with me for a while." We worked too well together. I hate to say it but I think we work together better than Kara and I. I loved Kenzie with everything in me and it's true when I say that she has my heart. She's like my soulmate but we are very platonic.

"You said she wasn't a cop." Kara states.

"Well, yes." I say confused as to why they are confused.

"So then what is she, exactly?" Alex asks and I sigh.

"She's my partner in crime." I say with a smile. "We've been in worse situations than this." I say chuckling. "She's the best person for the job." I tell them. Kenzie has some 'special' skills that we could use. I'll just leave it for a surprise for later.

"We'll see." Alex says. Alex and Kara give each other a look. I can only guess what it means.
