The day Y/n's powers manifested, the young boy dedicated himself to mastering them, driven by the desire to make his mother proud. With fire and gravity under his command, he pushed his limits, growing ever more confident in his abilities. Although he had yet to attain the demon form he displayed during the manor's siege, his resolve did not waver. Y/n understood his purpose; he was determined to become a hero and make both his mother and father proud.

Seated in his room for the day, Y/n was mastering his control over flames. The fire responded to every gesture; he moved his hand, and it followed suit. This mastery further elevated his confidence, and with a self-assured smile, Y/n willed the flame to disappear. But that was just the beginning. Extending his hand and opening his mind, the gravity around Y/n warped, causing his bed and some tables to levitate. He maintained his focus until the sound of his bedroom door opening broke his concentration, and he tumbled to the ground alongside the floating furniture.

Seras: OH I'M SORRY Y/N!

Y/n could do nothing but grumble as he rose to his feet. Seras had a knack for appearing unexpectedly, yet the young half-demon didn't mind. Seras was cheerful and kind, her demeanour almost a reflection of Catherine's treatment towards him. With a smile, Y/n released a soft chuckle.

Y/N: I-It's my own fault...

Seras however didn't care, she was kind to a fault.

Seras: It seems your still hard at work (Chuckles) don't you ever stop?

Y/n remained quiet for a moment. Walter would assist him in training for the next few days to better master his powers. Yet, Y/n was also practicing alone in the dead of night, a time meant for rest. He was driven by a desire to improve, to be of aid rather than feel worthless. The cost of power was steep, but Y/n was ready to endure any hardship to gain strength. Regardless, he acknowledged there was still a significant journey ahead before he could consider himself truly helpful.

Y/n: N-no...I...I want to be stronger...

Seras knelt to match Y/n's height and softly tousled his hair. She viewed Y/n as a fascinating individual—a young boy ready to stand up for his convictions, which she found quite inspiring. This moment took Seras back to her own less-than-stellar childhood, her mind wandering to memories of her mother and father...

For a moment, the young vampire gritted her teeth in sorrow and anger, she however was brought back to reality when Y/n started to speak.

Y/n: W-Why are you here?

Seras: Well I thought you could see a friendly face for once, I thought you might like to see me?

Y/n: i-I don't mind...

Seras: I assume Sir Integra told you about our new forces?

Y/N; N-No? we're getting more forces?

Seras: give how most of our soldiers died during the attack, Sir Integra deemed it necessary to employ mercenaries to help out, I'm not sure myself....

Y/n gazed at the ground, momentarily lost in thought. The notion that mercenaries might not possess the same loyalty or competence as traditional soldiers was hard to grasp. Yet, he acknowledged there was likely much he didn't understand; after all, he was still a child, with no real grasp of how the world operated.

Seras: You can join me if you like? They'll be arriving soon and I don't think Integra will mind you joining?

Y/n paused, considering the value of conversation with another. Comfortable only with Seras, Walter, and Sir Integra, Y/n was uncertain about Alucard. After a moment's hesitation, Y/n extended his right hand towards Seras.
