You and Draco awoke with the sunrise greeting you both with its bright rays of light. Neither of you had dreams of each other, but sleep came easily for the both of you. You moved away from Draco in a sluggish matter. You had enjoyed the warmth his body provided and didn't wish to leave it. Draco too enjoyed you being so close to him and didn't wish to move either. However, you both knew you needed to get going to see about the next dragon.

"We could go see Urdin next and then I could show you the papers from my parent's home," you said as you took out the second to last slice of bread out of your bag. You shivered from the temperature change.

"That sounds good," Draco agreed. "I'll be back shortly. I saw more pigs I could feast on." Before departing, he helped bring the fire from last night back to life.

"Thank you!" you exclaimed, instantly feeling heat return to your body.

It was cold this morning so the heat was appreciated.

"You're welcome," he replied with a smile and then flew off.

You ate your slice of bread and took in the scenery around you. There were flowers of pinks, blues, and purples not too far away from you. They danced to the breeze blowing by which thankfully the breeze was not enough to extinguish the flame you sat in front of. The sun was a little higher in the sky now.

The leaves on the trees joined in with the tune of the flowers, delicately dancing with the beat. You could faintly hear birds chirping in the distance and wondered if they were the same birds you had come across at Draco's place. You soon received your answer. The birds landed on one of the nearby trees. Yellow, red, and orange accompanied the bird's bodies, the colors bright and beautiful. You smiled up at the birds finding them just as cute as the other birds.

Draco soon made his return and he helped you put out the fire. You then received help with getting onto Draco's back and he took off.

"Camellia said that Urdin was located in the western region near a tarnished village," you spoke out of memory.

"Right," Draco replied already flying in the western direction.

"I wonder...was it war that destroyed the village?"

"More than likely."

"It's awful...war..." You shook your head, brows furrowed in disappointment and frustration.

"It is. Unfortunately, it has been the way to, 'peacefully' resolve many conflicts," Draco spoke with some bitterness.

"It shouldn't be the only option. There should be other options and leaving that to be the last resort." Your heart ached at how much war had caused many people and dragons to lose their homes and turn on each other. Too much conflict in the realms hurt and you couldn't stand it.

"I agree. I hate the fighting, but I will fight if there are no other choices in the matter."

"I understand..."

You and Draco talked a little more about the topic until something in the distance caught the dragon's attention. He could see crumbled pieces of what once looked to be homes. Burnt and decaying.

"That is our village," Draco said. He turned his body into that direction.

You peered over on the left side of Draco and your eyes widened. You had expected some damage, but not this much. Everything was practically beyond repair. It was desolate and eerie that it caused a chill to go down your spine.
