You and Draco focused on finding the church that Camellia had mentioned. It was large and couldn't be missed. Stained glass windows accompanied it. You had Draco go in a direction you once wandered off to when you were a child. You could vaguely remember seeing a place built and had the feeling it very well could be the church that Camellia talked about.
You were looking to your right and noticed something in the distance. Could it be...
"It's the cathedral," Draco said. His vision being more attuned than yours spotted it easily.
"Great! Let's get down there and look around," you said happily.
Draco landed nearby the church and helped you off. The church was indeed ginormous. The stained glass windows were beautifully crafted with many colors. It made you want to step inside the church to witness the splendor up close.
"Do you think our dragon is resting inside the church or somewhere out here?" you asked him.
"More than likely inside. We'll need to be careful in our approach," Draco answered.
You nodded in understanding. You wondered if it would be best for Draco to enter the church first.
"I'll enter first and you wait out here," he replied reading your mind.
You giggled, "You read my mind. That was my thought exactly."
Draco laughed, "Well, as I said before. You can be very easy to read."
You laughed and nodded in agreement.
Draco walked toward two tall wooden doors. They were worn from years of use and the metal handles held onto the wood as much as they could. He pushed the doors open with ease using his snout. The doors creaked as they swung open. What greeted him was space big enough to hold two dragons.
The pews that once resided in full structure were crumbled as if an earth quake had broken through at one point. The ceiling was high with a few chandeliers for candles missing. Only two hung on to what was left. Cracks on the ceiling allowed for a little bit of sunlight, rain, or snow to come inside. The stained glass windows depicted figures that each resembled the importance of historical events and people that have been long forgotten. All were miraculously in tact. The cathedral over all had seen better days but still stood as strong as possible.
As he walked further in, he could see a figure that was bathed in full of sunlight from the giant stained glass window that was built in the very back of the church. The rainbow cast a glow over the silver being that slept peacefully without care. He was surprised that the dragon hadn't been disturbed from the noises he so clearly made. Perhaps she was in a deep slumber. He had not had deep slumber himself for a long time now.
He admitted that the silver of Arianell being cast in the rainbow was breath taking. The colors made the silver all the brighter. Just as he was turning around and planning on having you see the dragon, a low growl was emitted from the silver creature. Draco's eyes widened and he turned to look back at the dragon.
Sapphire eyes greeted orange/gold. The eyes held a ferocity that Draco could sense came from years of hardship and distrust for everyone. That included other dragons.
"Get out of here now," she spoke venomously.
Draco's eyes widened at the malice in her voice and then glared at her, "I'm not here to harm you. Merely passing through and sightseeing."
