An entire year has passed since the last Chapter.Cid was now 17, in his third and last year at Midgar Academy.
The year had been unusually quiet, with the activity of the Cult of Diablos dropping so drastically that it raised alarms within the Shadow Garden.
Despite their best efforts to uncover the reason behind the cult's silence, the Seven Shades found no answers. The once threat seemed to have disappeared, leaving the entire organization on edge.
Two surviving members returned to the Ancient City, comes back into their routine, they never failed to stop by Cid's home every weekend. They quietly cleaned and maintained it, showing their appreciation for their master.
As for Cid, the lack of excitement in his usual Shadow work led him back to hunting bandits, just to keep himself entertained
'Man this is so boring.. Why does no plot events happening this year??' He said internally
He cut down yet another nameless bandit with ease. 'No big conspiracies, no hidden organizations making moves... Just bandits. It's like they're the only thing left to deal with. bruh' Sighing as he wipes the blood off his sword.
'I guess i have no choice but to wait and see ugh'
..
Meanwhile, back at the Shadow Garden's headquarters, the Seven Shades gathered in the meeting room.
Delta was fast asleep in her chair as thhe others exchanged worried glance.
"I don't like this," Alpha began, her tone serious. "The Cult has been silent for too long. It's not like them to go completely dark."
"Their inactivity is suspicious. It's almost like they're planning something big, but what?" Epsilon added.
Gamma tapped her fingers on the table. "Our intelligence teams haven't uncovered anything unusual. It's as if they've simply disappeared."
Zetan crossing her arms, "they're preparing for a large-scale move. We can't afford to be careless."
"Agreed," beta said and her expression is serious.
...
"Everything is completed, Gula-sama." Sherry reported. "Even the powerful sleeping drugs you requested a few months ago, It was developed and completed." she added.
"Good. Now, call every Knight of the Rounds." Gula nodded.
"Understood," Sherry bowed, before exiting the room.
*
In the meeting hall, The Knight of rounds gathered, They were notified about the seriousness of the task that lies ahead.
"We must take countermeasures if we're going to fight or even capture Shadow," Fenrir spoke first.
They all knew Shadow is not a ordinary opponent.
"What about Aurora's vessel?" Jormungandr asked.
"We will deal with her soon, It would be nice to offer Shadow's magic to Aurora, wouldn't it?" Loki replied.
"That would backfire." Hel disagreed to Loki's proposal, Gula gave Hel a nod.
"We have something that can corrupt even the strongest of creatures, right?" Agirni spoke, "How about we control dragons? We still have those collars we developed decades ago."
Just then, Sherry re-entered the room, bowing her head before speaking. "We've prepared all the sleeping drugs and poisons for use." she reports.
"Very well, Sherry. You may excuse yourself," Gula said, Focusing to the discussion.
As Sherry turned to leave.
"Back to the topic of Aurora's vessel..Claire Kagenou. What are we going to do with her?" Petos asked.
Sherry froze mid-step, '...Claire Kagenou? a Kagenou?'
"Claire Kagenou?" she repeated, she turned to face Gula.
Gula, noticing her sudden reaction, raised an eyebrow. "You know her?" he asked/
"She's the sister of someone I li- no.. i used to know," Sherry said, Stoppign herself before she could reveal too much. She couldn't help but think about Cid. "If I'm not intruding, may I ask what you plan to do with her?"
"A demon lives within her," Gula explained. "A demon that once wreaked havoc upon the world centuries ago."
"Oh... Are you going to kill her? Claire, I mean." She asked, sweats form on her forehead.
Gula seeing her reaction, he simply smiles. "Of course not. She's far too valuable to us."Sherry let out a quiet sigh of relief. "Then... okay," she muttered before excusing herself.
As the door closed behind her, Loki chuckled softly. "What a weird girl... naive and useful."
"Now, back to Agirni's proposal," Fenrir continued, refocusing the group. "I believe controlling the dragons would be most beneficial in our strategy."
"I think so too," Gula agreed. "Let's move forward with this plan."
The other members of the Rounds nodded.
They talked about their plan for quite a bit till they were all satisfied and concluded the meeting.
