3. Grief.

“ mom, I am leaving I am meeting the girls in the mall for shopping.” I tell her on my way to the front door.

“ okay, take care my dear.” she answers sipping her coffee watching a her favourite documentary.

“ bye.” and I close the door behind me.
The ride to the mall does not take so long, it's just twenty minutes away and the girls have been blowing my phone saying that I am late as always.

I walk into the mall and Lexy is the first person I see in aile three and I walk to her. “ hey?” she greets kissing me on the cheek.

“ hey, where are they?” I ask when I can't see Amy and Nadia.

“ they went to the bathroom.” she says checking out a pink dress that has a lot of flowers.

“ that would look good on you.” I say when she takes her time staring at it.

“ I was thinking of getting it for Bella.” she says in a low tone. “ she is a teenager and you know how they can get. She is becoming a little distant with me lately.” she frown.

Bella is her younger sister, they used to be so close told Lexy all her secrets and she has started behaving like teenagers do. She misses her since she spends a lot of time in their grandparents’ house that is two miles away.

“ just give her time. She is trying to figure out thing. Just be there for her.” I assure her and she smiles. “ and definitely get her the dress it's her style. She'll love it.”

“ thank you. You're always cheering me up.” she says taking the dress off the hunger.
My phone rings and it is a new number. I glance at it and send whoever that is straight to voicemail.

I don't know them and if it's urgent they'll send a message.

“ is that Ben?” Lexy asks and I raise my eyes to meet hers.

“ no.” I say “ speaking of Ben, I haven't heard from him since three days ago.” I say when I notice my relationship with Ben is practically coming to an end. He has disappointed me time and again.

“ let's go check out some shoes.” Lexy changes the topic and I follow her towards the shoes section.

“ hey girl.” Nadia says from behind me and I turn swiftly.

“ hey.” I say hugging her and moving on to hugging Amy.

They look so cheerful as always and I can't have enough of them.
“ so how's the handsome boy.” Nadia asks smiling widely at me.

“ what handsome boy.” I act oblivious.

“ speaking of handsome boy.” Amy say eyes wide looking over my shoulder and I turn.

“ Leo?” I act okay when am totally not. He really gets me nervous everytime. “ what are you doing here.”

“ c'mon girl, it's a mall.” Nadia says from behind me.“ everybody comes here.”

“ yeah right.” am so confused.

“ can we talk.” he says in a low intimidating voice. Very relaxed and collected. “ alone. ” he concludes when I keep staring. This is so embarrassing.

“ yeah. Sure.” I say walking out of hearing distance aware of him behind me.

“you ignored my call.” he says once I turn to face him.

“ I didn't know it was you and besides how did you get my number?” I will never get used to how he knows everything.

“ that is not important.” he says glancing at a guy that have been standing around I guess is with him. They look a lot alike but the guy has bleached hair and a nose ring. “ where is your mom?” he asks out of nowhere and I am surprised.
