following the funeral the council gathered, all sat around the round table in the council room.

"i have heard word from Dourhold." i spoke, speaking of the dwarven kingdom to the east. "they no longer wish to be aligned with the Great Dragon. i do not blame them after all that has happened." i looked to Lilliana, "What of the beast folk?"

"we will remain." she answered, "i have sent word to my father and he has decided to respect my decision."

"And the dragons?" i asked Althaeon, knowing that he had previously declared independence.

"we will return to the Great Dragons rule." he answered. "so long as you remain the Great Dragon uncle."

"Very well." i looked to Odessa and Throne, "so has it been decided which child will be queen when the time comes?"

"it has." Odessa answered. "it will be Rose as she is the elder of the two."

"Thorne, will you help guide Odessa during this time?" i asked the elf.

"i will." he answered.

"then i would like the two of you to remain on the council for the time being." i told them both.

"As you wish." Throne bowed his head in respect.

i looked to Astraea, "will you remain on the throne of Drakaria despite what has happened?"

"i will." she answered, bowing her head. "this kingdom is my home and i was raised to rule it."

"very well." i gave her a nod.

i then looked to Oberon and James. "i assume you both will remain in our rule as your lands are within ours."

"The light fairies stand with the new Great Dragon." James informed me.

"As do the dark fairies." Oberon agreed.

"So around this table is the new council." i spoke calmly. "if any cannot make it to a meeting, i will suggest that you send a representative. this was not something my sister had done in the past and it was a mistake as many meetings were missed by some."

"one of many mistakes." James scoffed.

I couldnt help but notice that Astraea glared at her father there.

"Now speaking of my sister." i started. "we need to decide her punishment. i believe she should have a public punishment as well so a private one. any ideas are welcome."

"for private," Astraea spoke, "she should not be allowed to go anywhere without a member of the family with her at all times. she should not be allowed to move freely, however," she glanced at her father. "we all have to remember, that this was not her fault. her powers took over and she did not have control."

I gave my niece a nod.

"we should put a magic suppression collar on her as well." Althaeon spoke, "there is one where one can use powers within a specific space but not outside of it. it would make people more comfortable to know that she cannot harm them when she is out of the palace."

"which palace will she be confided to?" James asked, his arms crossed.

"the Great Dragons palace on Luna island." i answered. "she will be allowed to roam the palace as long as i remain there. i also will state now, she will no longer be allowed to hold a title of any type nor will she be allowed to sit on the council. she can attend royal functions as she is still a member of this family, however, she will need an escort to attend."

"so what about the public punishment?" James asked, "she did not just harm our family, she harmed many others too."

"Chain her to the throne room here." Thorne spoke, then looked to Astraea, "boost her emotions to fill her." he looked back to me. "have her endure emotional torture for seven days. allow the people to come view as they wish. we will keep here here during it to ensure that she remains safe. we will put the collar on here during that time so that she cannot fight back."

"goodness Thorne." i spoke. "that is brutal, she brought back your wife."

Thorne glanced at Lilliana then back to me. "which she would not have to do if she did not kill her in the first place. the people need to know that see regrets what she has done, they need to see the pain that it causes her."

"Very well." i spoke. "Alexandria will face these consequences for her actions." i looked to James, "she is your wife, you will be the one to tell her what we have decided."

"She may be my wife," James said, with arrogance in his voice, "but she's your sister, and as the Great Dragon, you should be the one to take responsibility."

"Your snarky little..." i collected myself.

"Shit?" James finished my sentence. "Absolutely, i am not ready to speak to my wife yet. but as Great Dragon, you have to be."
