We went over to Christina's appartment after she invited me for a drink. Of course I couldn't say no. She put a CD of the band "The Smiths" into her CD player. Her favourite band since we were teenagers. It made the few rooms seem even more cozy than they already were. She used these lights that cast a warm yellow glow over the entire area. I liked them far better than those cold, white ones.
We sat down at her kitchen table together, she drank another coffee and I had myself a forest-berry flavoured tea. I felt so much more at ease here with her than I did alone. She must've noticed because she asked me: "How was your night? Awake for long?" Her gaze was fixed on mine and her eyes had this caring and warm glow in them. She looked so pretty in this lighting.
"I...stayed awake almost the entire time, yeah" I answered slowly and sighed. She smiled apologetically and took one of my hands in hers. "You can stay here for the night if you want...if it makes the situation easier for you" I didn't need to think about that offer twice and nodded. "Alright, shall we go and get your stuff for the night then? We can take my car" she said before we stood up and got ready to go again. She closed her appartment door behind her and we stepped down the many stairs of the building, outside towards her car.
After we got the stuff I needed we headed back to her appartment. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, but a good quiet. A peaceful and nice atmosphere.
"I'll take your bag to carry it" she said after we got out of the car. "No it's fine I-" but she already took it and went towards the building, leaving me no time and space to protest. I just sighed and chuckled and followed her up the stairs again.
We later sat down on her couch and began watching a movie. "The Bell Jar" to be exact. An old one but a beautiful classic. At about halfway into the movie I began to feel tired. My eyelids felt heavy and I struggled to keep them open. Christina noticed that and spoke with a soft voice: "you can sleep if you need to, I'll be right here. You can lean against me if you want to" So I did exactly that. And soon, the tiredness took over and I drifted off to sleep. Leaned against Christina's shoulder.
