It was the morning before the end. The everything they had been waiting for. Both sides of the couple got up feeling excitement with a good amount of anxiety. It was normal for a royal wedding to happen early in the relationship. A year to get to know each other then a week of them saving the kingdom was plenty of time.
They got to know each other in different context that would normally take years. The Prince didn't think this day would ever come when he met the Rebel all those nights ago. He was ecstatic and over joyed drafting up his vows he would give tomorrow afternoon. Going to the dance hall was the first thing on his mind.
They were setting up the candle holders and waxing the floor. There were hooks being set up that would probably go to a brilliantly fancy chandelier. That would need to be set up only a hour at most before to light the candles. The Prince was worried about his skills as a dancer for this part. He and the Rebel had danced without music in his room a couple times already.
This was going to be different though. They were going to be in front of other people, as a couple. Everything about the day felt just like it was in his dream. There was no one that could stop this now. The flowers were the best part at the gardener was one of the few people in the castle that knew who he was.
Sneaking out to the garden at night was something that he did in his teen years. Seeing her again and all the flowers that were picked out for the decoration filled his heart. After checking down all the things on his list some of the anxiety dissipated. Everything falling into place for the final time.
That night he thought about following the separation rule that was tradition. Spending the final night separated was a terrible thing to even think of. They had spent enough time apart recently there was no way he was spending any more time away. Just one more day; all he had to wait was just one more day. Then he would have peace.
The Rebel was more excited to see everything that their love had done. The first thing they went looking for is a what the menu was. Going into the kitchen they were working full force for the next night's meal. They would have an early feast with an early night following the dance. After all the both of them had been thought an early night was the best decision they could have made.
After the menu was confirmed and parts were tested a little they moved onto the throne room. Everything was looking beautiful and just perfect. It was the day they always knew would come but it was nothing like this. Before it would have been a small town wedding with just their partner.
The crowd being what ever friends that would be around at the time. A royal wedding was no where near what they thought of the first time marriage came up in their life. Now they couldn't care less about what the party looked like. As long as the Prince was on the other side of it. The coronation was something they didn't think would be possible.
The fact they were being put in the one of the most powerful positions of the kingdom. Somewhere they could help the people like their mother always wanted. Hopefully in a way that she would be proud of the results they would yield. It was always a lot to put on a kid, now that they were right there.
Now that there was only one more day in between them and their future it was a lot. the whole thing hit them as they were settling down for the night. They were moving on in life, bigger then any winter they managed went though. Just one more day and it will all fall into place for the final time. Then they would have peace.
