When the ashes get to burn

Chapter 1

December 2025.

"So this guy and I tried to sneak and steal one of the firetrucks that were on the field so we could go and save my dad and his friend". Said TK while Buck was hiding his face in his hands. "But we got caught by the guys just before leaving" said Buck watching Tommy's disapproval face.
– So your team stopped both of you from going to a suicidal mission? Said Tommy knowing the right answer. "You kidding? Even my team caught us and joined the mission" Replied TK just before Carlos smashed some cake on his face.

After this conversation the guys started to talk about how TK thought that Buck was trying to flirt with him, it was a beautiful night, in New York, the streets were covered in shiny red and white lights and it started to snow when both the couples were getting out of the restaurant to go to their respective apartment.

"So it was so cool meeting you here guys, can't believe we stepped in that store". Said Buck grabbing Tommy's hand to place a kiss right on the back of it.

"I know, right? Actually, I didn't know you guys use all those hair products, I mean, I was there for my dad but...you Buck?" Started to say TJ just when Tommy interrupted "Actually, we were there because of me, I gotta take care of myself if I want to keep this heartbreaker with me" Said Tommy while Buck just turned red and roll his eyes making Carlos and TK to laugh "See you guys, hope to have you back in Texas soon, at least before the wedding"

"Count on that, you too come to LA, we can use some beach time, you are too pale for being a Texas man" Shouted Buck while started to walk away. " You know you're pale to Evan, don't you?" Said Tommy "Oh yeah, is that so?" Replied Buck, "That so" says Tommy "Well someone is not getting this pale ass tonight" Snap Buck with a smirk leaving Tommy behind.
" Evan, love, we can talk about it"
"I'm sorry, my pale ears hear nothing"

February, 2028

All he can hear was the ringing sound of his phone, getting him back to reality. He gotta get back to work, to the world, to face life. He climbed out of bed and felt shivers by the touch of his bare feet on the ground, he walked straight to the bathroom and look himself in the mirror. Puffy eyes, messy hair, weak beard..."Bath, a bath should help" said Buck turning the water on.  Thirty minutes later he has staring at himself in a body mirror wearing his uniform when he heard a knock in the door, he rushed downstairs to open to Maddie, at 7 o'clock just like any other day.

-What are you doing? You aren't supposed to be using your uniform not today- Says Maddie with a concern look on her face - I'm not staying at home, not today today...I can't be here I'm going madness. - Said Buck while they were making their way to the kitchen.

-Oh Evan...why didn't you say anything, you know you can stay with us - Said Maddie whilst she grabbed the coffee maker to pour a cup for her and Buck - Are you sure you ARE want to work today? Bobby said you can take the day off..

-I'm not, but by being here alone in the house make it worse...at least getting back on the field may distract me. I'm gonna be okay, Maddie - Said Buck putting on his best face so his sister could stop of being that concern.

-Okay then... - Maddie took a step closer so she could hug her brother - Let's go we can grab some lunch on the way
