THE WHEELERS BASEMENT
he thunder rumbling could be heard from the Wheelers basement, the kids took the girl with them, she was now sitting on the couch breathing heavily, "Is there a number we can call your parents?" Mike asks as the girl looked at him, "Where's your hair?" Dustin suddenly spoke "Do you have cancer?", "Stop it, Dustin!" Riley said glaring at him, "Did you run away?" Lucas continued "Are you in some kind of trouble?" Mike adds too, "Is that blood?" Lucas spoke as he was about to touch her shirt but Riley slapped his hand away, "Stop it! You're freaking her out!" She whispers yells, "She's freaking me out!" Lucas said looking at Riley, "I bet she's deaf!" Dustin says as they all looked at her, Dustin clapped his hands together infront of her as she flinched. "Not deaf." Dustin says as Riley looked at him in disbelief, "All right, that's enough, all right?", Mike says looking at his friends, "She's just scared and cold." He continued, before walking towards casket full of clothes as he picked up some walking back towards them, Riley noticed how the girl flinched everytime she heard the thunder rumbling, so she sat next to her, "Hey it's okay..." Riley speaks holding the girls hand smiling. "Here, this are clean. Okay?" Mike says handing the clothes to the girl as she hesitated before taking them, Riley stands up as she looks at the girl pursing her lips. The girl stands up removing Mike's coat that he gave her earlier, She took the hem of her shirt, pulling it up but luckily Riley stopped her, as the boys exclaimed covering their eyes and looking away. "No, no, no!" Riley says stopping her as Dustin and Lucas kept says 'Oh, my God' "See over there?", Riley whispers pointing some door which was the bathroom, "That's the bathroom." She says smiling at the girl, "Privacy. Get it?" Riley continued as the girl nodded walking towards the bathroom, Riley followed her as she forgot her clean clothes.
"Here, you forgot this?" Riley said handing her the clean clothes, the girl took them and smiled, Riley was about to close the door but the girl stopped her by holding it too. "You don't want it closed?" Riley asked as the girl shook her head, "No." She whispers, "Oh, so you can speak," Riley says excited, "Okay, well... Um, how about we just keep the door...", Riley says closing it a little more, "Just like this.", Riley says smiling as she left the door ajar, "Is it better?" Riley says as the girl nodded, "Yes." she whispers again, as Riley nods walking away towards the others. "This is mental." Dustin spoke, "At least she can talk" Mike says shrugging, "She said 'no' and 'yes'. Your three-year-old sister says more." Lucas spoke roasting the girl, "She tried getting naked." Dustin says looking at Riley, "There's something seriously wrong with her," Lucas says poking his own head, "Like, wrong in the head.". "She just went like..." Dustin says as he mocked the girl's actions earlier making his hat fall off his head to the ground. "You deserve that." Riley whispers as she looks at Dustin, "I bet she escaped from Pennhurst." Lucas says looking at Mike and Riley, "From where?" Mike asks confused, "The nuthouse in Kerley County." Lucas explained, "You got a lot of family there?" Dustin says smiling and Riley rolled her eyes as she walked away from them waiting for the girl to come out from the bathroom.
