As Jeonghan's birthday approached, Seungcheol found himself filled with a nervous excitement.
For years, he had admired Jeonghan from a distance, and though their relationship had been strictly professional, he'd always wanted to do something special for him.
Jeonghan, who always carried himself with a calm and composed demeanor, never really celebrated his birthday, something Seungcheol found puzzling.
But this year, Seungcheol was determined to change that.
With the help of the other guys, Joshua, Jun, Soonyoung, Wonwoo, Jihoon, Seokmin, Mingyu, Minghao, Seungkwan, and Vernon, he had spent weeks planning a surprise birthday party.
They all wanted to make it memorable for Jeonghan, and Seungcheol, of course, wanted to use it as an opportunity to show Jeonghan just how much he cared.
It wasn't just about the party, it was about showing Jeonghan that he mattered, that people loved and appreciated him.
But there was one problem; Jeonghan didn't seem to like celebrating his birthday. In fact, he avoided any conversation about it altogether.
At first, Seungcheol had dismissed it as Jeonghan being shy or modest, but as the days drew closer, it became more apparent that there was something deeper going on.
Still, Seungcheol couldn't shake the feeling that Jeonghan needed this. Maybe celebrating his birthday for the first time would help him break through whatever it was that held him back.
After all, Jeonghan deserved to feel special, even if he didn't see it.
One afternoon, with just a week left before the big day, Seungcheol decided to approach Jeonghan directly.
He had planned out his words carefully, wanting to ease into the topic.
He found Jeonghan in the office, going over some reports. As usual, Jeonghan was focused and professional, his eyes scanning the document with practiced efficiency.
"Hey, Jeonghan."
Seungcheol greeted with a warm smile.
Jeonghan looked up, his expression softening slightly when he saw Seungcheol.
"Hey, Seungcheol. What's up?"
Seungcheol leaned against the edge of Jeonghan's desk, his hands in his pockets.
"I was thinking your birthday is coming up soon, right?"
Jeonghan's expression changed immediately.
His shoulders tensed, and the light in his eyes dimmed just a little.
"Yeah. It is."
"Well, I was talking to the others, and we thought it would be nice to do something for you. You know, a little party? Nothing too big, just close friends, good food, maybe some cake."
