{2} How it all started

Simba, now a cub, emerges on the promontory, as his friend kovu stood beside him while his tail raised. With an excited look, he races away calling out "come on kovu!" Both him and kovu races into the den, where the pride is sleeping.

"Dad! Dad! Come on, Dad. We gotta go. Wake up!" Simba dodges around the lionesses, jostling them. Kovu was right behind him as he instead walks around them so doesn't wake up any of them as they got close to the king and queens sleeping spot.

Simba would jump up onto his father Mufasa, who is sound asleep."Dad!" His expression turns dour when Mufasa does not respond. "Daaad."

"Your son is awake" sarabi said with a tired tone in her voice hearing simba in the background trying to wake up mufasa.

Mufasa grumbled "befor sunrise he's your son.." he commented eyes still close not budging from his position.

"Dad! Come on, Dad." Simba tugs Mufasa's ear, but loses his grip and tumbles. "Whoa!"

Kovu silently snickered standing by watching this. "Don't think you'll get him up"

The young king took that as a small challenge from His friend "Oh I'll get him up, watch" he jumped up again and headbutts his father's face, causing Mufasa sleepily open one eye. "You promised!" He glares at Mufasa.

Mufasa looks at his son then seeing kovu walk by his side he then sighed "Okay, okay. I'm up, I'm up."

Simba smiled happily "Yeah!" Simba raced off with kovu quickly following him.

Mufasa yawns as a stretch as Simba skips out of the den with kovu, with Mufasa and Sarabi emerging shortly afterward. Simba bounces up to Sarabi and rubs against her leg affectionately. Sarabi gives his rump an encouraging nudge and watches, smiling, she then saw that kovu hesitated and gently gives him a nudge of reassurance. "go on"

Kovu feeling the nudge looked up at simbas mother, took His gaze back at the two then starts to move following the two to ascend Pride Rock.

the top of Pride Rock illuminated by the rising sun, with Mufasa and Simba sitting side-by-side atop the summit, kovu walked up as he sits next to Simba who's giving him a smile.

"Look, Simba. Everything the light touches is our kingdom." Mufasa started to speak,

"Wow" simba looked at the view of the pridands listening to what his father is saying.

" A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you" Mufasa ducks down to Simba's level.

"as the new king.'

"And this'll all be mine?" Simba asked with an amazed tone in his voice.

Mufasa hummed with a nod. "Everything"

Simba strides along the edge of Pride Rock, overlooking the Pride Lands. "Everything the light touches." He sits back down.

Kovu glanced at the view of the pride lands as he couldn't believe his friend was gonna rule all of this one day, his expression then suddenly turned into confusion "about that shadowy place?". With curiosity him and Simba both looks back at Mufasa questioningly.

Mufasa strides toward the two sternly. "That's beyond our borders. You must never go there, both of you"

"But I thought a king can do whatever he wants." Simba was confused of why his father said they can't go on over there even though he's gonna be future king, Kovu nodded in agreement.
