Jisung felt tired, and heavy. He didn't want to move from the comfort of his bed. The light fighting its way through his eyelids to his eyes was annoying. It kept him from falling back to sleep like he wanted. He groaned and tried to roll over.
That's when he felt it.
The person sitting on the edge.
The fact that he was on a couch, not a bed.
That's when his memory of last night rushed back to the forefront of his mind.
He shot up to a seated position with a gasp.
He was met with a somewhat familiar face, who offered him water.
"Here," Changbin said. "I was going to find a place to repair your phone because you dropped it and it broke. Unfortunately none were open so late."
Jisung took the water and eyed the man as he drank it.
"Where's Seungmin?" he asked after quenching his thirst.
Changbin gestured to a closed door not far from them.
"In Hyunjin's room. Don't worry, he's fine," Changbin assured him.
"Why did you drug and kidnap us?"
Changbin sighed and stood up, taking Jisung's empty glass and walking to the kitchen to fill it again.
"Hyunjin has been obsessed with getting Seungmin back ever since he saw him at Yeji's performance," Changbin explained. "He knew Seungmin would never willingly talk to him, so he came up with this stupid plan to force him back here for a talk." Changbin shook his head as he topped off the glass from a pitcher he got from the fridge.
"Why did you go along with it?"
"Believe me," Changbin started. "I tried to think of something else. I did. I couldn't think of anything and the plans I did think of, Hyunjin said no to. I figured if Hyunjin wanted to kidnap Seungmin then I should at least help keep Seungmin safe while this horrible plan was carried out."
Jisung had to admit, he sort of liked Changbin. He still wasn't fond of the fact that he didn't try harder to stop Hyunjin, though.
"I guess that makes sense," Jisung muttered.
Changbin handed him his new water and Jisung accepted it. Just as Jisung was taking it, they heard muffled yells and pleas from the bedroom door. Then a Seungmin still groggy from the drug stumbled through the door, slamming it all the way open as he failed to stand properly.
"Seungmin, please! Listen to me!" Hyunjin came begging after him.
"Fuck off!" Seungmin grumbled and started towards the door that lead out of the apartment.
"Seungmin, Seungmin, Seungmin," Hyunjin repeatedly begged, getting in front of him. "Seungminnie, I love you, please!" Hyunjin's eyes were wide, tears dripping from them. "I promise I'll do better!"
"Changbin, get your bitch. Explain to him again that I'm not gonna part of some stupid fucking threesome," Seungmin slurred his words just slightly as his mouth refused to move fast enough. "God, fuck."
Seungmin leaned against the wall with the flat screen tv just above his shoulder. Jisung got up and handed Seungmin his water. Seungmin took it, and as he drank it, Jisung allowed his hands to hover near his back in case he fell, and by the glass in case was unable to properly control it as he drank.
"Hyunjin," Changbin said sternly, joining the trio by the wall. Then he softened his voice. "Let him go."
Seungmin glared at Hyunjin, messily handing the cup to Jisung to put down on the coffee table for him.
Hyunjin eyes were full of hurt, begging, and longing.
"Don't you remember?" He tried again in a soft whisper. "Please. Just— just one more chance. Just one."
"No, you slutty whore of a bitch," Seungmin spat before mustering all his strength to shove him aside and continue to the door.
Jisung followed him wordlessly and held out his hands to steady him. Seungmin made it to the door, his two past friends watching with aching hearts, and he shoved his feet in his shoes and got out the door as fast as his recovering body would allow him.
Jisung looked back at the duo as he got his own shoes on. He felt a mix of sorriness and anger. He spent no time allowing him to feel much more as he closed the door behind him and called Jinyoung.

Felix had texted them to meet at his dorm as they got in the car.
Jisung looked at his friend. He had his head leaned against the open window, the wind rustling his hair as he rested his eyes and body.
"Felix wants us to meet him at his dorm," Jisung told him. "I think you need to rest up first, though."
"How long until we're there?" Seungmin asked, his eyes stayed closed.
"About 35 minutes, sir," Jinyoung answered.
"Mm. I'll be ready by then," Seungmin concluded.
"Are you sure? We can delay it until later. Felix wouldn't mind—"
"I'll be ready, Jisung."
Jisung closed his mouth.
"Okay," he finally answered, his voice much quieter.
Jisung decided he wouldn't push it. This seemed to be his way. Seungmin preferred to move on from unpleasant experiences. Leave them in the past and act like nothing ever happened.
Jisung wasn't sure if it was healthy to just ignore your problems, but he wasn't going to be able to change his mind, that was for sure. He wondered if Seungmin ever told anyone about all that he's experienced. He hoped there was someone he talked to. The worst thing Jisung could think of was that Seungmin kept it all to himself.
He couldn't imagine what that would be like. Every traumatic experience just getting buried and left to grow from a seed to a tree, digging its roots deep into your system and altering the way you live in ways you weren't even aware of.
The only reason Jisung knew anything about Seungmin beyond the basics was because he had witness them. Even then, Seungmin refused to delve any further into what happened or how it felt. Jisung wanted to help him, but he didn't know how outside of just being there for him. It was all he could do, and maybe all Seungmin would let him do. If Jisung could prove he could keep secrets and support Seungmin any way he needed, maybe Seungmin would trust him enough to be open.
As they drove back to the school Jisung watched his friend's peaceful face in the warmth of the sun and hoped he truly would be okay.
