3rd Person POV
With the only two other people on the island gone for now, F/N found himself all alone in the restaurant, with nothing but his thoughts to pass the time.
"..."
However, that was too boring for his liking and he had no plans to go to search for Mikan and Hiyoko, so he only had one other option left at the moment.
"Monokuma... Monomi. Are you there?"
"Now there's a sound for sore ears! F/N wanting us to come and harass him?" Monokuma arrived with Monomi in tow as soon as their names were called.
"So you admit you're harassing my student? The only thing worse than a bad person is a bad person with self awareness!" Monomi grumbles.
"Already arguing? Shouldn't siblings get along... or something like that?"
"F/N, you should know I'm not his little sister just because he's my big brother!"
"This rebellious attitude of yours is getting old! Mom and Dad already left because of you, how long until you stop tearing our family apart!" Monokuma wails with tears in his eyes.
"Wow, you two are impressively annoying to be around." F/N groans and slouches in his seat.
"Then why the heck did you call for us!?" Monokuma shouts.
"Huh? It's 'cuz I'm bored. And I've got nothing to do but kill time while sitting here." F/N leaned his head back.
"Why are you still here anyway?"
"I'm waiting."
"Waiting for what? Is something supposed to happen?" Momoni asks.
"We'll see."
"Oh! Is it a surprise party? Or is everyone coming back today?" Monomi cheerfully came up with all sorts of theories.
"That sure would be news to me! There's not a single chance I'm letting those guys free until someone dies!" Monokuma harshly shoots down all her Hopes.
"Thanks for the clarification captain obvious. Any more groundbreaking news?"
"If you're gonna insult me, then maybe I should leave and let you die of boredom!"
"Before you do that, there is something I'm curious about. It's always nice to get a second opinion about things and all that."
"Oh? What's up?"
"Monokuma... I'm curious to know your opinion. How much do you think a person can change for the better... and how much of a right do people deserve to change?"
"Huh? Where'd this come from?"
"..."
"Aw, is it a secret? If you have any troubles you should share it with your headmaster young man."
"Could you just answer?"
"Puhuhu. Well... since I am your principal and a former philosophy major, I guess it's no surprise you came to me for advice." Monokuma boasts.
"That definitely isn't true you liar! None of it is!"
"Shut it, sis!" Monokuma yelled at Momoni before spinning around to give F/N his attention.
"Now as for you, I think the answer is simple. People can't change. Deep down we're all boring and predictable down to our core. You can't change the very essence of your soul... not without the unpredictability of Despair. It reaches deep into your core and infects every ounce of your being with an unfathomable misery. It'll turn you into something completely different... it'll truly change you for as long as it has a grasp on you. Without despair, life will be full of painfully monotonous people who painfully pretend like they change over time when they are no less boring and predictable. So without Despair to cause your very being to crumble away, nobody will ever truly change. That's the truth, my lovely student."
