AliynaI drew in a breath, preparing myself to let out a gut wrenching scream to scare Leo off but he interrupted me and muttered, "of course no one would ever hear you if you did scream, that is. I wouldn't be shocked if you didn't notice but my house is completely isolated from everyone else, for a reason", he slightly chuckled like a psycho would. "let go of me then", I shoved him off and straightened out my top which had been scrunched up, having been forced against a door.
Thankfully, he wondered back over to his chair on the other side of the room, so I took it as my opportunity to leave this place and hopefully never come back. However as I momentarily stepped out of the room, I weirdly felt the sense that I had to stay; I don't know if it was curiosity or purely stupidity but I was faltering.
"You want to be involved, don't you Aliyna. As I said earlier, I did a bit of digging and discovered that you showed a particular interest in detective work, in fact, you seemed rather determined to be one but then mysteriously, one day the interest is no longer there", he paused, "the strange thing is, I couldn't figure out why".
I didn't know what to say to that, all I could manage was, "wow, you've only gone and figured out my entire life story, Leo, aren't you impressive". The anger was building, he apparently knew everything about me but I clearly knew nothing about him and his criminal family which I've now entangled myself with. "let me ask you something, if I per say go along with whatever this is, if anything happened to me, what will you do. My mum will definitely worry if I one day vanished, what would you say to her if one of your mafioso companions killed me suddenly, I do wonder".
he stared at me blankly for what felt like forever but then he grinned at me causing me to grimace. he placed his elbows on the desk as though he meant business, straightening out the sleeves of his jacket before replying with, "I'd dispose of your body firstly, in whatever way seems fit in that moment and then I'd use my 'mafioso' connections, to manipulate everyone into believing there never was an Aliyna here in Italy. Once I've done that, I'd pay your mother a visit and say you got killed in a cliff diving accident, since that's apparently a hobby of yours".
I was now staring at him, completely baffled by what he just said, he's quite literally insane and after saying all those horrendous things, not once did he laugh or even slightly smile to signal he was being sarcastic; No, he instead just slumped back into his expensive leather chair like the spoilt, rich boy he was and preceded to look me up and down as though he was completely unimpressed by me.
"Christ I'm kidding Aliyna, okay, wasn't that obvious-", no not really, "- if you're with me you'll be fine, not one hair on your big head will be touched; but you're either fully in or not in which I'd send you straight back home to merry England", he was honestly such an asshole but for Gias' sake and my own, I wanted to stick around, I had my own point to prove which I won't go into, for now at least. "okay I'm in, now can we go home I'm exhausted and sick of this conversation".
I stood in awkward silence as he failed to answer my question but instead pull out his phone and start typing away. "you're incredibly rude, do you know that. wait who am I kidding of course you know because I bet that's the attitude of every mafia heir out there", yes I was trying to aggravate him like he does to me but he still didn't respond instead I noticed how he furrowed his eyebrows and his nostrils flared slightly. "is something wrong-", he suddenly got up from his chair and rushed past me and out of the door. I followed after him, whilst he manically exited the house and into his car. I got in next to him, "I'm guessing something has happened, will this be our first step in the plan".
He turned the engine on but before he reversed out of his driveway he turned to me and said, "no, you're going back to the house". I must of misheard him, "I'm sorry what, well can you at least tell me what's happening, I thought we're now 'partners', kind of". Leo swung out of the drive way scarily fast, "we're not 'partners' and I wouldn't go round spreading that unless you do want to die. As far as everyone knows, me and you moderately tolerate each other because we have to since we're make shift roommates, for the next year. it won't be hard since it's not a lie, or will it be for you".
