ALIYNA

The journey was super chill, I actually forgot how much I loved going on planes; the ascending part was definitely my favourite part which is weird since that's my least favourite bit about rollercoasters and well anything that's high.

The two hours were officially up and the captain had just informed all the passengers that we could now exit the plane. However I kind of waited for everyone in my aisle to leave first before I even attempted to get up. You see I'm the type of girl that will not willingly put herself in any type of social, awkward situations.

Finally everyone in my area had officially left the plane, so I could now make my fashionably late exit from economy, hoping I looked mysterious and cute to any airport hotties but realistically who was I kidding I probably looked like I'd been dragged though a bush and it was 1 am; no one at this time in an airport was looking for a girl, they were probably looking for a bed.

10 minutes later...
I was now waiting at the bag bit and shocker here, it's been delayed by an hour. I sighed for a lengthy amount of time because I didn't want to already be an inconvenience for this family who were probably waiting up for me this late at night. God I feel bad even though I know this isn't exactly my fault.

I was about to sigh again when out of nowhere, someone put their hand on my shoulder causing me to jump out of my skin. I turn around to face the person and tell them I'm not interested when I noticed the sign in their hand. It took me a minute to actually take it in because I'm slightly dyslexic.

Oh it's my name... wait it's my name.

The man officially spoke and said in a low Italian voice, " this is your name, miss". I don't know why but I disassociated, I think from the lack of sleep, so I just stared at him for a few seconds completely oblivious to the fact he'd asked me a question.

Looking at me with a confused face he said, "miss... uh this is you, yes. I work for the Moretti family". Oh my god what is wrong with me, I'm making this so unnecessarily, awkward after just saying I hated awkward situations. " oh sorry, yes that is my name, are you here to pick me up" . The man simply nodded and then started walking with... my suitcase in his hand.

Wait what, how did he get that... when did he get that. I thought the staff said there had been a delay, that's weird but also good for me, so really I wasn't that bothered.

We were now both in this really fancy black car. The car had black out windows which told me exactly how rich and powerful this family were. Although I wasn't scared by their status, I was also kind of wondering if I'd fit in well with them considering our differences in backgrounds. But I'm going to make it work because this was my first stepping stone into some lifetime powerful  connections.

Bored because there was no music playing in the car I decided to ask the yet to be named man some questions. "Hey, as you know I'm Aliyna but may I ask you for your name, only if you wouldn't mind", I said looking at him through the rear view mirror.

" I wouldn't mind at all miss Aliyna, my name is Giovani but you may call me Gio if you'd prefer", he looked up at the mirror I was staring into and he smiled. This guy was now my favourite person in Italy. "Okay Gio, you can call me Ali, if you'd prefer", I replied returning his smile. "Miss Ali it is then".

I was about to tell him he could drop the miss thing but I could tell that was probably protocol for him so maybe I'd remind him to drop the miss during more reasonable hours of the day.

15 minutes later...

I didn't even realise that the car had reached a stop until Gio opened my car door for me and extended his hand. I've honestly never met such a gentlemen in England before, so this was a lot for me to take in but I wasn't complaining about it either.

I grabbed Gios hand and stepped out of the car. I turned to Gio and said, "thank you for picking me up Gio, I really appreciate it". He took both my hands and shook them before saying, "only doing my job miss Ali but you're very welcome".

Gio was now at the boot of the car as he pulled my suitcase and bags out. I ran over to him and told him I didn't mind carrying them myself but he outwardly refused to have me carry them, so I gave up that fight maybe a bit too quicker than i should of.

I don't know why I expected the family to actually be waiting for my arrival because as I entered the house with Gio by my side all I could see was darkness, nothing but darkness.

I turned to Gio and he out of nowhere pulled out a mini flashlight from his pocket. He switched it on and started walking up these long spiralled marble stairs. He signalled me to follow him as her carried my suitcase up the stairs, so I did.

Gio had now led me into one of the many rooms up here and placed my suitcase on the floor. He turned to me and whispered, " this shall be your new room miss Ali, I hope it's to your liking". Gio had now switched the light on and the reveal was unbelievable.

From the big double bed to the walk in closet at the back of the room. I withheld my squeal mindful of the asleep people in the rooms next to me. I looked into gios eyes and whispered, " it's definitely to my liking. I couldn't have even imagined or pictured myself living in a room like this one".

I squealed quietly because I just couldn't maintain it and Gio slightly laughed at my excitement and said " welcome to the family miss Ali", before leaving my room and clicking the door shut.

I threw myself onto the bed and now it all felt real. I made it here and I was going to make this year count.
