Kaisa sama hai,

Hum tum yahaan hain

Dil ki pukaar tou, sun lena

He was on his knees, in front of her. The man who had shut everyone up except his two friends and father, was now near to bowing down in front of the woman he loved the most. His eyes reflected a rare hint of warmth and care, which made her certain that her choice was the best. Just the thought of finally being able to love, of being loved, of having someone in her life who was sincere to her, made her tear up. His voice turned slightly nervous as he spoke with all honesty,

"Zoya Mir, you are the biggest blessing sent into my life by God. You've made my heart beat again, in ways I didn't know would be possible. Just the thought of you leaving my life haunts me, I feel suffocated thinking about life without you. You deserve the best, which I know I'm not, but still, I promise love, care and loyalty to you, and you only. You'll be the only one who'll ever be in my heart, kyun keh mujh per raj tou tumhara hi hai. Bohat nervous hoon, tou seedha pooch leta hun, shadi karogi mujhse?" Her heart beat was increasing every second, the words coming from his mouth having a huge effect on her.

(Because only you rule me. I'm very nervous, so I'll ask you straight forwardly, will you marry me?)

Her tears dropped down from her eyes as she replied,

"Pata nahi kaise aur kab, but I love you too Zaviyar. To say that you're a blessing for me would be me being ungrateful. You're much more than that. Aaj agar main yahan hoon, toh tumse hoon. To end your nervousness, yes, I'll marry you and will not let you go until I die-"

(I don't know how and when. If today I'm here, it is because of you)

"Acha theek hai, shadi ki baat chal rahi hai, marne maraane ki nahi. And think before you speak like that about yourself," He cut her off and stood up, advancing his hand towards hers. She forwarded her hand, onto which he slid the promise ring. It was the most delicate ring with the cutest heart diamond in the center.

(Okay fine, we're talking about getting married, not dying)

They sat down on the floor cushions in a peaceful atmosphere, watching stars and enjoying each other's company. After having coffee made by Zaviyar, talking for what felt like hours and staring at each other till their heart's content, both of them parted ways for the night as Zaviyar went home unwillingly leaving her alone. He always hated leaving her alone at her house given the fact she didn't even let the house helps stay back after 9 PM.

A few days later

"Uhm, Baba, I had to talk to you," Zaviyar and his dad were having dinner and he had decided to tell his father everything that had happened in the past week. His dad looked up from his food, staring at his son with a questioning gaze since Zaviyar never showed a single hint of nervousness while talking to him about anything before today. Seeing him stutter, he knew something lame or something crazy is about to be said.

"Yeah, go ahead," His father's tone was very calm, which helped some part of Zaviyar's inner hope increase. He knew his dad was a chill guy, but to tell him that he had proposed a girl, that too a few days back, without him knowing was embarrassing and difficult for Zaviyar to open up about. Taking in a deep breath, he said in one go,

"iwantogetmarried," His dad stared at him with a 'you're-dumb-' look.

"Beta, araam se, pause kar ke phir se bolo," Zaviyar facepalmed himself, hating that he had to repeat the sentence again
