Chapter 10 - Unity Day

The Delinquents were listening to Jaha's Unity Day speech.
"My friends, this is a historic Unity Day. Every year, we mark the moment our ancestors of the twelve stations joined to form the Ark, but this is the last time we do so while aboard her. Next year, on the ground" Jaha continued, I was standing next to Nate hearing the annoying speech
"Right. After we did all the work. Someone shut him up" Nate said
"You shut up, Miller. No one's forcing you to watch" Raven said back and I snickered
"For ninety-seven years, we have eked out an existence, hoping that someday our descendants would return to Earth" Jaha said. Then all of the sudden Jasper and Monty emerge out of their tent with some kind of batch. If it's alcohol I'm so getting drunk. Please be alcohol.
"Whoo! Yeah! Monty strikes again! Hey! Call this batch Unity Juice! Who's thirsty? Monty! There you go" Jasper yelled and I walked towards them
"Happy Unity Day Robin Hood" Jasper said as he handed me an extra large cup of this "Unity Juice" and I just rolled my eyes before walking towards a very drunk Harper
"Ready to have fun Madds?" Harper asked
"Hell yeah" Then we drank and played and I felt like a teenager for the first time since after mom died

"Hey bells" Maddi called as she walked over to me swaying and was about to fall but I caught her
"Well hello love"
"You know you're like really hot" Maddi said while staring at me. I'm definitely teasing her about this tomorrow.
"How much have you drank love?"
"I didn't drink" Maddi said slurred. And I was born yesterday.
"Right. You having fun?"
"Sure am" Maddi answered then I handed her a bottle of water to help sober her up. After about ten minutes Clarke came walking towards us
"Hey. I need to talk to you both" Clarke said. What now?
"Having fun yet, blondie?" Maddi asked
"I'm serious" Clarke said
"You always are, so talk"
"Finn's set up a meeting with the Grounders. I'm leaving to go talk to them. And they asked Madds to come " Clarke explained. He did what? Hell no. No one is going anywhere. They've done nothing but kill us why would they change now?
"Because you think that impaling people on spears is code for "let's be friends"? Have you lost your damn mind?"
"I think it might be worth a shot. I mean, we do have to live with these people" Clarke said
"Clarke-" Maddi started
"Finn said the grounder told him that if you weren't sure if you wanted to come to give you this. Do you know why?" Clarke said as
she handed Maddi a necklace, Maddi looked at it as if remembering something as soon as Clarke asked Maddi's face shot up from the necklace took it from Clarke and saved it in her pocket
"I just need my jacket then we can leave" Maddi said before trying to walk to walk away. What the hell? So they gave her a pretty necklace so what?
It does make up for the dead we have had to bury since we landed.
"Whoah hold up love" I said grabbing her arm
"What's wrong?"
"No hesitation? You could die out there" I stated the obvious
"I won't. How about this, get a couple people with you to follow us, be our backup" Maddi offered. It's better than nothing
"Would Finn know about this?"
"What Finn doesn't know won't hurt him. And freckles, bring guns" Maddi said before walking towards her tent with Clarke hot on her tail. I'm gonna need bullets. I walked in the "bullets tent" to find Raven working and Jasper being his joking drunk self
"Jasper, you're coming with me"
"I am?" Jasper asked
'You handled yourself well in the cave with the Grounder"
"I mean, I hit him in the head" Jasper said as I tried to take a pack of bullets
"If you're planning on shooting anything, you better think twice. I haven't checked those yet" Raven said
"Give me some bullets that work"
"What do you need them for?" Raven asked. Making sure no one dies tonight cause of your stupid ass of a boyfriend
"Your boyfriend's being an idiot"
"I'm coming with you" Raven said as she got up
"We should get Clarke and Madds" Jasper suggested.
"They're with Finn, aren't they?" Raven asked already knowing the answer.
