Chapter Three - Rescue Mission

I was talking to Miller when Clarke came up to me with Wells, Bellamy and Murphy behind her, then I noticed Skye, I knew something was up
"Maddison time to go" Clarke said and expecting me to follow her was about to walk away but I stopped her
"Wait a minute, Skye is not going"
"We need as many volunteers as possible Madds" Wells tried to reason
"I don't care she's not going"
"Please I wanna help Jasper, he saved mine and Octavia's lives Madds" Skye defended
"You can help him, when we bring him back"
"Wait, so you can go and I can't. Is that it?" Skye exclaimed
"Yes that's it"
"I'll be careful-" Skye tried to persuade me but failed miserably
"No. It's dangerous S and I can't have you getting hurt again" I explained
"What if you get hurt? What then?" Skye asked
"I'll be fine. Go back to camp"
"No" Skye insisted
"Not to rush you or anything but-" Clarke tried
" I know. Nate get Skye back to camp and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid" Nate then nodded and dragged her away. I turned around and see them staring at me, so I gave them a questioning glance
"A little much?" John said I looked at him with an unamused expression
"She's my sister what did you expect?" I answered sassily. Most of them looked at me surprised except Wells
"Let's go" I said to Clarke then I walked away leaving them stunned
A minute later Clarke caught up to me
"Can I ask you something?" Clarke said
"Sure"
"How didn't your sister get caught? I thought your dad maybe would-" Clarke said
"Turn her in? He might be Jaha's lapdog but he loves Skye way too much to do that. And as for how she didn't get caught, my mom made a hole on a wall in my room then covered with a mirror, and every time there was a a surprise check in Skye hid there" I answered truthfully
"For the way you talk about your dad I'd say you aren't close to him anymore" Clarke suggested. I looked back to make sure Bellamy and John weren't listening them I answered truthfully
"He floated my mother and was gonna float me Clarke. So I wouldn't say we have the best father-daughter relationship"
"I'm sorry Madds" Clarke said
"It wasn't your fault Clarke" I said
We kept walking in a comfortable silence until...
"Hey hold up, you don't survive a spear through the heart, what's the rush?" Bellamy said while holding up his gun like a toy. God I wanna punch that smug smile off his face
"Put the gun away Bellamy" Wells said
"Why don't you do something about it? Huh?" John said as he shoved him
"Jasper screamed when they moved him. If the spear struck his heart he would've died instantly, it doesn't mean we got time to waste" Clarke exclaimed
"As soon as you take this off we can go" Bellamy said
"The only way the Ark is gonna think I'm dead is if I'm dead, got it?" Clarke explained
"Brave princess" Bellamy teased
"Hey why don't you find your own nickname? Let's split up cover more ground, Clarke, Madds come with me" Finn called
"She's staying with us" Bellamy said
"Madds?" Finn asked
"I'll be fine, go" Finn then hesitantly left with Clarke. Great. Now I gotta deal with the biggest idiots on Earth
I then started walking again not caring enough to check if they were behind me or not. Bellamy quickly caught up to me with John and Wells behind him
"So, is Finn your boyfriend ?" Bellamy said
"Ew, he's like a brother to me" I said disgusted by what he was implying while Bellamy laughed at my reaction, we kept walking until we found a little lake, we had lost Wells and John a while ago so it was just Bellamy and I. I noticed Bellamy taking off his jacket, shirt and pants
"What are you doing?"
"We've hiked for hours we need a break" he said before he jumped in the lake
"Fine, but if Clarke gives us a speech it's on you" I answered while taking off my jacket, shirt and pants, then got in the lake
"Whatever you say Maddi" He said while staring at me
"Like what you see, Freckles?"
"I do actually, I love what I'm seeing" He answered while looking me up and down and stopping to stare at my boobs
"My eyes are up here, Freckles" I said
"Says the girl who's been staring at my abs since I took off my shirt" He said
"I did not" I defended
"Tell that to your eyes Maddi" He said in a sexy tone while putting his hands on my hips. Why the hell am I blushing, it's not the first time someone flirts with me. Keep it together Maddison. Flirt back. Why does the way he says my name sounds so good, sexy, God stop thinking like that Maddison. Keep it together
"You're hot Freckles that's no secret" I said ignoring the slight blush on my cheeks while putting my hands on my hand on his chest
"Am I now?" Bellamy teased
"Shut up" I said while splashing water on him
"You are gonna pay for that" He said in a playful tone, next thing I know Bellamy splashed me with three times the water I splashed him with, we kept going back and forth until he picked me up by the waist and put me over his shoulder, I started playing with his curls and then the cold breeze hit me
'Put me down Freckles" I asked nicely
"Nah, I'm good" Bellamy answered still laughing and having me over his shoulder with one of his arms around my waist and one holding my knees
"I'm freezing Freckles" I whined
"Alright Maddi" He answered while putting me down
"Guys we found something" Clarke yelled from a distance
"We should get dressed" Bellamy nodded and we both quickly got dressed and went to catch up with Clarke and the others who just so happened to get there before us
"Why are you both wet?" Clarke asked
"Clarke focus, you can lecture us after we find Jasper" I answered with annoyance trying to avoid the question. She just nodded and showed us some googles. I remember seeing him wearing them the day we landed
"I found a trace of blood, it's gotta be Jasper's" Finn added
"Lead the way spacewalker" I answered, Finn then nodded and started following the trace with us behind him. After 20 or 30 minutes John whined AGAIN
"Do we even know this is the right way?" John asked
"We don't. spacewalker thinks he's a tracker" Bellamy answered
"It's called cutting sign. Fourth year earth skills, he's good" Wells defended
"You wanna keep it down or should I paint a target on your backs?" Finn said sassily. Now that's my brother from another mother.
"See you're invisible" Bellamy said to Wells. I've always known Wells was in love with Clarke, but Clarke has always been oblivious about it, everyone could see it except her. Not gonna lie it was hilarious.
*Distant Moan*
"What the hell was that?" John asked with a little panic hidden in his voice
"Now would be a good time to take out that gun" Clarke suggested
*Low Moaning*
It might be Jasper, I owe him for saving Skye and Tavia. I need to help him. Without thinking twice I run towards the sound with Clarke close behind me, us completely ignoring  Finn's, Bellamy's, and even John's warnings to slow down and be careful. We ran until we saw him. Jasper was tied to a tree. Without a second thought I ran to get Jasper down but the floor beneath me disappeared and I fell into a hole with a bunch of tall spikes but Bellamy caught my arm before I could fall completely into the hole, Bellamy then pulled me up
"You okay Maddi?" Bellamy asked while gently taking my face with his hands. He is SO hot. Damn it. Maddison focus.
"Yeah. We have to get him down" I answered ignoring the pain shooting through my right thigh. Then Bellamy helped me up
Don't look at your leg, it'll just make it worse, DO NOT LOOK AT IT. But as the dumbass I am, I still ended up looking at my right thigh. That looks gross, It hurts more when I look at it, damn why can't I look away. It's bleeding like crazy. Just ignore it. No one seemed to notice my right thigh which I was really thankful for. Jasper is priority
"I'll do it. Murphy help me" Finn said, John looked up to Bellamy for approval and after receiving a nod he went to help Finn to get Jasper off the tree. John really is Bellamy's bitch. After a couple of minutes of waiting for Finn and John to get Jasper down they heard a low growl
"What the hell was that?" John asked
"Nothing, just get Jasper down" I answered trying my best not to limp, looking for whatever was producing the sound
"Grounders?" Bellamy asked. Just as he finished his sentence I saw it. We are screwed if Bellamy doesn't have good aim with the gun
"Panther" I answered
"Bellamy. Gun" Clarke ordered. We all looked to Bellamy but he didn't have the gun so he took out a machete and stayed protectively next to me, which don't get me wrong I appreciate. But I can take care of myself. Should I take my gun out? I don't feel like listening to Clarke's or Well's lecture so not yet. The panther was circling us. And just my luck I was losing consciousness. I could hear gun shots my guess Wells stole the gun from Bellamy, but his aim has always been awful. So I made my choice. I took my gun and did my best to aim for the head of the panther while fighting to stay conscious.
Shit. I did it. I feel like crap but I did it. They all looked relieved and thankful. Guess they haven't noticed my thigh. "Madds where did you get the gun?" Finn asked curiously still not noticing my thigh. Damn I love him like a brother but he really is blind
"You stole it didn't you?" Wells suggested
"No shit Sherlock" John answered for me which I was thankful for though I wasn't gonna show it
"Thanks for saving our asses, but why did you steal it?" Clarke said
"I'm a thief Clarke, it's kinda my job" I answered which made Bellamy and John laugh, Clarke just nodded though I know she knew that's not the only reason I did it, and Wells just looked at me with disappointment written all over is face. I walked up to Clarke and took her away from the group to show her my thigh. Well this is gonna be good. God she's gonna be SO freaked out. It hurts like a bitch but I'm dealing with it though I feel like I'm gonna bleed out.
"Madds where are you taking me? We need to get Jasper to camp" Clarke said, once we were out of earshot I stopped
"I know okay? But I need to show you something and you need promise not to freak out" I asked unsure
"Okay, what is it?" Clarke answered
"Look at my right thigh and remember you said you weren't gonna freak out" I said
"HOLY SHIT" Clarke yelled and all the boys turned to look at us
"You said you weren't gonna freak out" I scolded while ignoring the concerned looks of the boys
"Madds how are not unconscious? How did that happen? When? You are literally bleeding out" Clarke exclaimed
"Maddi what is she taking about?" Bellamy asked with concern written all over his face
"Madds what's going on?" Finn asked worried
"Nothing, just ignore us for a minute." I answered with a small forced smile in my face, when all the boys nodded unsure of what to do, I turned to Clarke with anger written all over my face "What the hell, you said you weren't gonna freak out" I kept scolding her then she noticed how I started swaying so put her hands on my shoulders to keep me standing straight
"Okay sorry for freaking out, but when did it happen and how the hell did none of us notice?" Clarke said still freaking out but trying to keep calm
"Well you are all blind plus we nearly just were panther food, and it happened when I fell to the hole with the spikes. Look I just wanted you know in case I pass out or something "I explained as if it was nothing then tried to walk away but she stopped me
"I need to treat it or you'll have bleed out by the time we get back to camp" she said a little louder than she intended to and the boys heard it. I'm screwed
"What the hell are you talking about?" Bellamy asked worried, and I stayed quiet for the first time since we landed. But Finn then saw my right thigh and noticed my swaying even though Clarke was trying to help stay still. I'm screwed
"Holy shit Madds. Your thigh" Finn said as he ran to me to help me stay still
"It's just a scratch Finny, right Clarke?" I answered in not really caring voice. Then Bellamy and John snapped out staring at my thigh and ran to me
"Just a scratch? A SPIKE WENT THROUGH YOUR THIGH MADDISON!" Clarke snapped and we all jumped at her sudden outburst
"Sorry, just do what you gotta do doc"
"Good. Finn help her sit, I need a cloth or something to stop the bleeding" Clarke said, Bellamy ripped a part of his shirt and gave it to Clarke she took it and started wrapping it around my thigh. Then I started seeing blurry.
"Clarke she's falling unconscious" Finn exclaimed
"Shit, talk to her, she can't fall unconscious" Clarke said
"Hey Maddi, look at me, you need to stay conscious okay, for your sister Maddi, stay awake for her" Bellamy said while I just nodded
"Okay I'm done. She can't walk, someone needs to carry her" Clarke explained
"Hell no, I can walk just fine" I said while standing up and tried to walk but Bellamy picked me up bridal style
"You need to be less stubborn sweetheart" Bellamy said
"Put me down Freckles"
"Not happening sweetheart, John and Wells take the panther, Clarke and Finn lead us back to camp. Let's go" Bellamy ordered
After a while I lost consciousness, the last thing that crossed my mind was Skye. She's gonna be SO angry
