The phone sat in front of Amelia waiting for her to press the dial button. That's all she had to do but she sat there looking at like it was a cross bred animal that would bite her if she reached for it. She slumped and put her head in her hands. There no easy way to go about confronting your parents about the biggest secret they've kept out of her life, But it was something that she couldn't let pass.

She gathered up her courage and hit the dial button, three rings in she heard a click and the sound of her mothers voice flooded through the phone "LIA! Hi baby! How are you? How's school!" Her mother asked unaware of what Amelia knew. Amelia laughed, the kind of laugh that sounded unhinged and psychotic before her laugh turned to tears "Lia? What's wrong??" Her mother asked at the other end sounding bewildered.

Now Amelia was angry "what's wrong?" She asked with a crude tone "oh I don't know mom, the first day I get here all the bones in my body snap and break and I turn into a giant fucking wolf and then I get cornered in a hall by two men claiming to be my mates and some moon goddess made us for each other?" She screamed through the phone before she let a sob escape her body.

"You left me here unknowing what I am, what would happen to me, what to expect and go through you left me to do it alone no warning did you and dad even care, was it your plan to just throw me out of the house and figure it out myself as far away as possible from you both?" She said in between sobs, the phone remained silent before she heard a sigh and sniffle from her mother.

"Lia-" she began gently "in our world it is custom that we get our wolves at the age of 16, your age came and went and we feared you would never get a wolf, but that's when we realized we were wrong. What you needed was exposure. If we had told you prior that you had a wolf in you, you wouldn't have believe us, we are strictly to be kept hidden, we could not tell you and risk taking a chance and you trying to turn us in for insanity." Her mother said but the words stung as she felt untrusted by her own mother with something so large, what else could she hide?

"We talked to the school the entire year you took off after high school and they agreed a forced exposure to a large amount of wolves would be enough to send you over the edge. I didn't account for your mates to be there I had expected you to shift and reach out, I wanted to be there but I never would have expected the change so soon. " her mother sighed and Lia could tell this had been weighing on her for some time

"Yes the moon goddess made us all with a partner in mind, yes it is possible for you to have two mates as well, I wish I didn't have to keep this from you, but it was the only way Amelia you have to believe me." She said and she could hear the tears in her mother's voice and she sighed heavily. "I believe you mom, but I'm very hurt. I need some time to think about all of this." She said her mom began to protest but she'd already hung up the phone.

Tears freely began to flow from her eyes. It was never about the schools art program, never about finding love like her and dad had. It was all a set up. All planned behind her back full of months of fights about Brantwood College, the control Amelia had felt earlier diminished. It was never a choice for her to make. This was her life now, destined to be forced to stay chained to this school only to be able to learn about herself or at least enough to control herself.

A soft knock rang out at her door and she wiped her tears away and opened the door to be faced with her mates. They both let out a low growl seeing her distressed and tear stained state. She felt a calm wash over her which made her cry harder as she flung herself at Will. He held her tightly as she sobbed into his shirt. He smoothed her hair down and inhaled deeply at the base of her neck as if trying to memorize her in case she didn't touch him again for a while.

Which as she kept clinging to him she realized letting go would be hard. She fit perfectly against him despite the height difference, but it wasn't just that. Everywhere their skin connected was like little blankets of warmth mixed with fireworks. Every touch was magic every graze felt like forever. And she sighed against him.

She squeaked as she was pulled away and pulled into Josiah's chest, once again she felt the fireworks but something about his touch was different, it felt almost desperate, needy in a way, like he craved her more than air. It was intense but she couldn't help but lean into the feeling of it as she rested her head against his chest and inhaled his scent, while his brother smelled like lavender and sandalwood Josiah smelled like the ocean mixed with vanilla.

Will let out a sound of protest but cut it short when he saw I was receptive to his brother's touch. Nevertheless I took another good sniff and gently pulled away, Will came over to hover close and wiped the last tears off my cheeks "are you okay angel?" Asked will she smiled but shook her head and instead opened her door to allow them in her room once more. They obliged quickly and she smiled a little.

She began explaining to them the conversation she had with her mom, the years of lies, the forced shift, and as she continued to explain she could see the twin get more and more agitated "how could your mother not trust you with such information, it's your birth right as a wereworlf!" Proclaimed Josiah and Will nodded in agreement.

She sighed and shook her head as she laid back on her bed. " I wish I knew, if she has just explained it as I grew up this could have been avoided." Said Amelia and the twins shared a look before Will spoke "We actually can't tell our children about it till they are of age, but after that it's fair, so even if you didn't shift I don't understand why she wouldn't tell you." Said Will confused Josiah nodded "There has to be something she's still not mentioning." He concluded.

Could my mom really be hiding something bigger from me thought Amelia. She could feel Tira getting antsy and anxious as was she. What was she to do now that her mom only gave her half truths. She looked to her mates who watched her every move like she was going to disappear and she smiled.

At least she knew for now she could count on them.
