Y/N was packing up for college, folding clothes into her bag neatly. Anything she needs for the long trip away. The college got back in touch after a week, approved your application so quickly, that you weren't prepared yet. As you were rearranging your books you got a call. Picking up the phone you glanced at the nervous picture of Sam Witwickly, a picture you took when he was unaware. You decided to put his picture on your contacts so every time he messaged or called you would always chuckle at the picture and wonder if he is actually doing that same face over the phone. The ringing continues for a moment, until you finally answer.

"Hello stranger," you replied with a smile, you hear Sam sigh at the nickname you gave him.

"Thanks for finally picking up." Sam's nerd voice boomed the other side of the phone. "Was you making me wait?"

You shrugged. "I was busy."

"Ah, busy. Right," Sam said with sarcasm not believing you for a minute. "Y/N, if you were busy, you wouldn't have answered the phone."

"Do you want me to ignore you? Because I will, if you want me to?"

Sam went silent. You can mentally picture him shaking his head quickly down the phone.

"Don't you dare."

You chuckle at his words. You always loved teasing him, you always get a reaction out of him. He is so gullible.

"You're mean."

"No, I'm not. I'm a angel." You said as if pretending to have a halo above your head. You hear Sam's sarcastic reply again.

"An angel? Yeah, I don't believe that." You pout down the phone. "Alright, what is my devil friend doing, that makes her so busy to answer the phone?"

You could just imagine Sam doing the speech markings with his fingers.

"If you want to know, I was just packing up for college... I got approved."

"Really? Wow, congrats Y/N. Where are you going?"

"To... Princeton College..."

"Hey, that's where I'm going too. I got approved there as well. At least we will be together in our first days at the new school."

Yeah... But Optimus won't be around... You thought to yourself.

"How's your parents when they heard the news?"

Sam sighs. "Over protected as usual... They are happy for me, but my mother..."

You smile at the thought of your mother. Wonder if she's watching from the heavens, being so proud of you. You are growing up into a woman that could make her proud.

"I hear you... Your mother is just looking out for her only nerdy son." You teased making Sam frown and take offense to your words hanged up the phone completely. You laugh as you got a reaction out of him. You out the phone down as your father stepped through the door.

"Knock, knock." Your father said as he literally knocked on your open door twice. "I brought the tickets to New Jersey. We'll be heading to the airport, tomorrow. Have you got everything?"

"Yeah, dad... I've got everything..."

"Good. My daughter all grown up..." You father begins to tear up. "Your mother will be so proud... Back in our day, we didn't went to college. After high we went straight to work at age 16."

You sign sadly. Missing your mother. And now, you're going to have to leave your home... Your father and the Autobots... Tomorrow is too soon to leave... As you looked out the window, listening to your father's words, you can't help but wonder what Optimus feels right now...
Optimus stood by the window, just leaning against the wall of the building ever-so-slightly, trying not to smash into it. Listening to the conversation you had with Sam on the phone and now the conversation with your father. He sighs sadly, knowing tonight was the last time he would ever see you again...

That night you stepped out after dinner, and looked up at the starry night sky. Wishing that tomorrow won't come fast... Optimus steps forward and stops behind you. Looking up at the stars, then down at you again. A smile forms his faceplate as he bent down and put his open servo near you. No words was spoken as you climbed up on his hand, and he gently raised himself up, and brought his hand up towards his shoulderplate. Waiting for you to take your position on his shoulder against a low plate. You were being careful not to tear or rip out any wires. You both stare up at the sky. Just watching the stars sparkle above them. Meanwhile, watching the scene around the corner was Ironhide and Ratchet. Both sad to see their calm and collected leader, sad.

Y/N... Please don't be upset... You got you're whole life ahead of you... I want you to be happy... Life at war... Isn't what you want... Your father wouldn't want that... Nor does your mother... Please, Y/N... Enjoy your time at college... And when you do graduate, I will be waiting for you. My Y/N...
