Bee rolled up towards a garden in silence, driving towards a clearing, where platforms stood either side. There stood Optimus Prime in all his glory. Bee stopped as the doors opened, Y/N and Sam climbed out, staring up at him. Optimus turned to face them with a genuine smile of apology and happiness. He always makes your heart melt at his strong stance and his confidence. His optics met your eyes as you rushed over in disbelief. He was back."Optimus?!"
Optimus leaned down and smiled. "Y/N,"
"I can't believe it... It's really you... You're here."
Optimus chuckles softly as he lowered his servo for you to climb on and raised up slowly.
"Y/N, how have you been?" Optimus said with a smile upon his face, Bee and Sam watched the scene before them. Optimus brought his servo towards his shoulder, so you could sit back in your spot.
I missed you... So, so much.
"I've been doing OK, I guess... I miss you."
"And I miss you." Optimus replied back, before Sam interrupted.
"You won't give me a day, huh? You won't give me one day in college?"
Optimus stopped and turned to face him slowly. His optics showed pain in them.
"I'm sorry, Sam, but the last fragment of the Allspark was stolen."
"Like what? Like Decepticons stole it?"
You turned to face Optimus, as he looked down at Sam, then at you with a nod of his head.
"We placed it under human protection at your government's request. But I'm here for your help, Sam, Y/N. Because your leaders believe we brought vengeance upon your planet. Perhaps they are right. That is why they must be reminded by another human of the trust we share."
You shake your head as if to say "it's not your fault..."
"This isn't my war."
"Not yet. But I fear it soon will be. Your world must not share the same fate as Cybertron. Whole generations lost."
You felt bad for Optimus... Lossing his home from a war, not only lossing his home but his friends too. You remember Jazz's final moments alive. Optimus's words rung heavy within your spark. But what Sam said next really made you glare at him.
"I know, and I... I want to help you, I do, but I am not some alien ambassador, you know? I'm a normal kid with normal problems. I am where I'm supposed to be. I'm sorry. 1. I really am."
You see Sam retreating back to Bee slowly. Wanting to go back to college. Your eyes stare down at Sam, then lift back to Optimus, who watched Sam retreat. Optimus sighs sadly as he turns to face the view.
"Sam, fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing." Optimus wise words boomed through the silence. You felt bad for Optimus, but what made you snap your head was Sam's reply to our friend. The one who saved us from Megatron. The very friend who was about to risk his own life for our world. That very friend who is now here asking for assistance, their help. Only to have a rude reply by Sam.
You wanted to slap your best friend on the cheek, just to wake him up. To snap him out of it. Sure, he's a teenager. And every normal teenager would laze around, worry about their looks and be the most popular kid in the whole school. Sam isn't any normal teen... He's a nerd. That's why you love him. That's why you were best friends with him. Even though his phrases and timing are the worst and sometimes cringey... He has a heart of gold. You can understand why he just want to grow up, without being in a war. The thought of losing your life in the war is scary, but if it's to protect hundreds of people around the world from the doings of these Decepticons, then so be it. You would risk your own life for Optimus.
"You're Optimus Prime. You don't need us."
Sam stops beside Bumblebee as he turns, his eyes not looking at Optimus, but at you. "Y/N, you're coming?"You felt your spark sink slightly. Optimus had just returned to them, seeking for their help... He came all this way - only to be rejected by Sam. And now Sam was telling you what to do. You held Optimus's pipe upon his shoulder, as he turned his head to face you. If he had any eyebrows, you would definitely see it arch slightly. Optimus brought his hand up, but you stubbornly refused, shaking your head at his servo. You kept a tight grasp upon his shoulder, not wanting to leave Optimus again. You don't know why, but, you felt as if Optimus was going to slip from your grasp if you leave now. Optimus could see your pain and sadness. His optics glowed the same sadness.
"We do. More then you know." Optimus replied gently as Sam closed Bee's door as he waits for you to follow. But you don't. You wanted to stay with Prime. But, Optimus turned to face you and gave a small reassuring smile. "They're waiting for you... Y/N..." Prime said as he again brought up his servo back up and waited for you to climb on. Relenteleny, you look away from his hand, but as you yawned, you notice how tired you have been. You see, Optimus gently nods his head, giving you permission to go. With a heavy heart, you slip off his shoulder and landed upon his hand. He slowly kneels down and placed his servo onto the ground so that you could jump or climb down from.
Upon getting off Optimus's hand, you stepped towards Bumblebee with heavy steps. You stop beside Bee and turned to look at Prime, himself. Who was looking at the view with such sadness and defeat. His shoulders slumped. Once you entered Bee, and was backing away, you see Optimus turn to watch you leave...
Optimus... I'm sorry...
