Chapter3
Mira's mind went blank as she tried to come up with excuses. "Maa, Papa, I'm... uh... at Naina's place.Naina needed help in somethings.I am okay And no, I didn't drink anything." She glanced at Naina, who was mouthing "tell them about Arjun" behind her parents' backs.
Mira rolled her eyes and continued, "I'll be home soon, don't worry. And... uh... the scooty? Oh, it's... um... in Naina’s garage. Yes, that's it. I parked it there and forgot to tell you."
Naina was giggling silently, holding her belly in laughter. Mira shot her a warning look, trying not to burst out laughing herself.
After finally managing to wriggle out of the conversation, Mira turned to Naina and whispered, "You're a bad influence! Now my parents think I'm working, and I have to come up with more excuses later."
Naina grinned mischievously. "That's what friends are for! Now, let's call Arjun and see what he's up to."
Mira was exhausted and didn't want to escalate the situation, so she said, "Naina, let's just forget about him for now. We can deal with him tomorrow. Everything is under control, and I don't want to make it more chaotic tonight, okay?"
Naina reluctantly agreed, but her eyes sparkled with excitement at the thought of Arjun. Mira, on the other hand, was worried. Why had Arjun stolen the scooty? Everything was already complicated enough. If her parents found out, they would be furious.
As she lay in bed, Mira's mind raced with worst-case scenarios. She imagined her parents' angry faces, the lectures, and the potential grounding. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Arjun's actions would lead to more trouble.
The next morning, Mira woke up to the sound of her alarm blaring in her ear. She groggily reached over to turn it off, realizing she was running late for work. She quickly got dressed and rushed out the door, still thinking about Arjun and the scooty. Little did she know, her day was about to get even more interesting.
As she hurried to work, Mira's phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number: "Good morning, Mira. Did you miss me?" Thinking it's Arjun's message made her heart skip a beat. She couldn't help but smile, despite the chaos he had brought into her life.
Mira's phone buzzed, and she couldn't help but smile. Naina noticed and asked, "Why are you smiling, Mira? Is there something special on your phone?"Mira quickly replied, "No, it's nothing."
But Naina pressed on, "Are you sure about that, Mira?"
Mira assured her, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure."
Just then, Mira's phone buzzed again. She looked at the screen and rolled her eyes. The message read: "Baby, you're not pretty good, you're terrific. My love, my sweetheart."
Mira looked up at Naina, who was trying to stifle a grin. "Naina, you little brat! I'm getting late, and you're pranking me with your stupid acts. It's you who's messaging me, isn't it?"
Naina confessed, "You didn't want to call Arjun, so I was just checking if you were serious or if I should just call him mine."
Mira shook her head, laughing. "Naina, call him whatever you want, but after that, don't call me. Understood?"
Naina giggled and nodded, "Understood, but you're missing out on so much fun, Mira”.
Mira exclaimed, "I'm not going to miss out on anything! I'm getting really late, drop me off at my workplace or I'm leaving!"Naina replied, "Okay, my highness, I will do as you say. Let's go, otherwise, we'll be stuck in traffic."
Naina dropped Mira off at her workplace and headed to her own job. Mira had a sense of trepidation as she entered the office. It was a typical day, except for one thing - Mr. Verma, the CEO, had been replaced by a mysterious new person who hadn't been introduced to the team yet. The atmosphere was tense, with everyone whispering and glancing around nervously.
