Chapter 14
As Mira walked out of the restaurant, Arjun chased after her, calling out her name. "Mira, Mira, listen to me!"
Mira turned around, but then continued walking. Arjun pleaded with her to stop, saying, "Mira, please!"
Mira finally halted and turned to face him, asking, "What?"
Arjun approached her, explaining, "It's not what you think."
Mira then pulled out a wet tissue from her handbag and gently wiped the spot on Arjun's neck where Radhika had kissed him. Arjun felt a little blushed by the gesture, but at the same time, he was relieved to see Mira so possessive about him.
Mira's eyes locked onto Arjun's, her gaze intense. "Who is she?" she asked, her voice firm but controlled.
Arjun took a deep breath, trying to explain. "Radhika is an old friend. We've known each other since college."
Mira raised an eyebrow. "An old friend who kisses you on the neck?"
Arjun sighed, rubbing his neck where Radhika had kissed him. "I know it looked bad, but I promise you, it meant nothing. Radhika's just...affectionate."
Mira's expression softened slightly, but her eyes still held a hint of skepticism. "I want to believe you, Arjun. But I need to know the truth. Are you still in love with her?"
Arjun's eyes widened in surprise. "No, Mira, I'm not. I swear it. My heart belongs to you now."
Mira searched his face, looking for any sign of deception. But all she saw was sincerity and honesty.
Mira's phone rang, breaking the tension between her and Arjun. She glanced at the screen and saw Naina's name flashing.
"Naina's calling," Mira said, answering the phone. "Hey, Naina. What's up?"
"Hey, Mira. Can you please come over to my place? I need to talk to you about something," Naina said, sounding concerned.
Mira's curiosity was piqued. "What's going on? Is everything okay?"
"It's about Arjun," Naina said hesitantly. "I don't want to discuss it over the phone. Can you please come over?"
Mira's mind started racing with possibilities. What could Naina possibly want to discuss about Arjun?
"Okay, I'll be right there," Mira said, already heading towards Naina's place.
As she hung up the phone, Arjun asked, "Everything okay?"Mira replied,”Absolutely,I need to go now.I will talk to you later.”
Mira rushed to Naina's house, concern etched on her face. "Naina, what happened? You sounded so upset on the phone."
Naina opened the door, her eyes red and puffy from crying. "Mira, I'm so glad you're here. I don't know what to do."
Mira hugged her tightly. "What's going on? Tell me everything."
Naina took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "Today, Nishant called me. He said...he said he needs space. That this isn't working for him."
Mira's eyes widened in shock. "Oh, Naina. I'm so sorry."
Naina burst into tears again, her body shaking with sobs. "I felt a connection with him, Mira. I started loving him for all the right reasons. But now...now he just wants to walk away."
Mira held her close, trying to comfort her. "We'll get through this together, Naina. You're not alone."
As Naina continued to cry, Mira couldn't help but think of her own situation with Arjun.
