Aylin's POV

Moving to Kavieng town was a big change for me. Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Port Moresby city, I found myself in a small town with a fresh start. My mom sent me to Madina Academy, a boarding school outside of town. I was nervous and shy, not knowing anyone in this new place.

I met Natalie, my cubemate, who quickly became my friend. She was in Grade 11 Green, while I was in Grade 11 White. We had different classes, but we still managed to spend time together after school.

One night, I decided to visit Natalie in her class. That's when I bumped into Matthew Delano, also known as Matt. He was in Grade 11 Green and was an Intermediate Prefect. He asked me why I wasn't studying and roaming around. I told him I was looking for Natalie, and she came to my rescue.

As I sat in my room that night, I couldn't stop thinking about Matt. He was annoying and irritating, but there was something about him that drew me in. His voice, his confidence, his presence - it all made my heart race.

I realized I had a crush on Matt.

Matt's POV

Matt was used to being the heartbreaker. He was the school's heartthrob, and girls would fall for him left and right. When his friend Sammy noticed Aylin's crush on him, Matt laughed it off. He didn't want to date anyone, especially not a shy girl like Aylin.

But deep down, Matt felt a special connection with Aylin. He denied it to his friends, though, so they wouldn't tease him about being in love. Instead, he let them make a bet - if he asked Aylin out and she said "I love you," he would dump her. It was all a game to him.

As they started dating, Matt found himself enjoying Aylin's company. She told him stories, and he listened, but he would laugh about her naive attitude with his buddies. He didn't want to admit that he was starting to care for her.

One day, Natalie overheard Matt and his friends talking about Aylin and laughing. She tried to warn Aylin, but she wouldn't listen. Their friendship was strained, and Matt felt guilty for causing it.

Aylin's POV

As the months went by, Aylin and Matt's relationship seemed to be going well. Some girls were jealous that she was dating the school's heartthrob, but Aylin didn't care. She was happy to be with Matt, even if he could be a bit annoying at times.

But one night, everything changed. Matt's friends told Aylin about the bet they had made, and she was heartbroken. She ran back to the girls' dormitory, tears streaming down her face.

Natalie comforted her, but Aylin couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal. She had trusted Matt, and he had played with her feelings.

The next day, Aylin tried to focus on school. During recess, her classmates whispered about her and her ex-boyfriend, Matt. She tried to ignore them, but it was hard.

Her classmates encouraged her to be strong, and she put on a brave face. She knew she had to move on from Matt, even if it hurt.

Matt's POV

Matt couldn't concentrate during the student body meeting. He felt guilty for what he had done to Aylin. His friends tried to cheer him up, but he couldn't shake the feeling of regret.

After recess, he saw Aylin in the Grade 11 Green classroom. She looked sad, and Matt knew he had caused her pain. He wanted to apologize, but he didn't know how.

As he sat in class, he couldn't focus on the lesson. His mind kept drifting back to Aylin and the hurt he had caused her. He knew he had to make things right, but he didn't know where to start.

Aylin's POV

The Language and Literature teacher for Grade 11 Whites was sick, so the class was combined with Grade 11 Greens. Aylin found herself sitting next to Matt, feeling nervous and angry.

Mrs Thomas told Aylin to pass out handouts to the students.

When she reached Matt's group, their eyes met. Aylin felt a pull towards him, a connection that she couldn't explain. She tried to focus on the lesson, but all she could think about was Matt.

Matt's POV

Matt watched Aylin as she passed out handouts to the students. He couldn't take his eyes off her, feeling a sense of guilt and regret for what he had done.

When Aylin reached his group, their eyes met. Matt felt a spark between them, a connection that he couldn't deny. He knew he had to make things right with Aylin, no matter what it took.

As the lesson went on, Matt couldn't focus. His mind was consumed with thoughts of Aylin and the pain he had caused her. He knew he had to apologize and make things right, even if it meant facing his friends' teasing.
