Aylin's POV

I couldn't help but blush at Natalie's bold question. It had been years since Matt and I had been together in high school, and things were much different now. We had a son together, Kyes, and our relationship had evolved into something much more complicated than just a teenage fling.

"No, Natalie, we haven't hooked up," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "We're just co-parenting Kyes and trying to make things work for his sake."

Natalie raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. "Come on, Aylin, I know you still have feelings for him. I can see it in the way you talk about him and the way you look at him when he's with Kyes."

I sighed, knowing that Natalie was right. I did still have feelings for Matt, but I wasn't sure if he felt the same way. We had been through so much together, and I didn't want to risk our co-parenting relationship by bringing up old feelings.

"I don't know, Natalie," I admitted. "I just don't want to ruin what we have now by complicating things with a romantic relationship."

Natalie nodded understandingly, but I could tell she wasn't convinced. She was always the type to push me out of my comfort zone, and I knew she wouldn't let this go easily.

"Well, just keep an open mind, Aylin," Natalie said with a mischievous grin. "You never know what could happen if you just let yourself be vulnerable."

I rolled my eyes at her teasing, but deep down, I knew she was right. Maybe it was time to have a serious conversation with Matt about our feelings and see where things could go from there.

A few days later, I found myself sitting across from Matt at a coffee shop, nervously fidgeting with my cup as I tried to find the right words to say.

"Matt, I need to talk to you about something," I finally blurted out, unable to hold it in any longer.

Matt looked up from his phone, his eyes meeting mine with a curious expression. "What's up, Aylin? Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts before speaking. "I...I still have feelings for you, Matt. I know we've been through a lot, but I can't deny that there's still something there between us."

Matt's expression softened, and he reached out to take my hand in his. "Aylin, I've never stopped caring about you. You're the mother of my son, and I'll always have a special place in my heart for you."

I felt a wave of relief wash over me, knowing that Matt felt the same way. Maybe there was a chance for us to rekindle our relationship and see where things could go.

As we talked more about our feelings and our past, I felt a sense of hope growing inside me. Maybe Natalie was right all along, and I needed to be more open to the possibility of a future with Matt.

And as we left the coffee shop hand in hand, I knew that no matter what the future held, I was ready to take a chance on love once again.

A few days later

Aylin's POV

I couldn't believe it. Matthew, my ex-boyfriend and the father of my son, had just asked me to be his girlfriend again. My heart was racing as I looked into his eyes, searching for any sign that this was just a joke. But all I saw was sincerity and love.

"Yes, Matt. I would love to be your girlfriend again," I said, a smile spreading across my face. I couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions - excitement, happiness, and a little bit of nervousness. But deep down, I knew that this was what I wanted.

As we hugged each other tightly, I felt a sense of familiarity and comfort that I hadn't felt in a long time. It was like coming home after a long journey, and I knew that this was where I belonged.

Matt's POV

Seeing Aylin's smile and hearing her say yes to being my girlfriend again was like a weight being lifted off my shoulders. I had missed her so much, and I knew that I had made a mistake in letting her go.

As we spent quality time together, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this second chance. Aylin was the love of my life, and I was determined to make things right this time around.

Taking her out on a boat trip was my way of showing her how much she meant to me. We laughed, talked, and enjoyed each other's company as if no time had passed since we were last together.

Aylin's POV

The boat trip with Matt was magical. We shared a delicious lunch and watched the sunset together, the warm breeze blowing through my hair as I leaned into him. It felt like a dream, and I never wanted it to end.

As we sat down for dinner, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with love for this man who had always been there for me, even when things got tough. And when he kissed me, all my doubts and fears melted away, leaving only the certainty that we belonged together.

Matt's POV

Dropping Aylin off at her house after our date, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. Being with her felt right, and I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life making her happy.

"I love you, darling. Goodnight. I'll see you and Kyes tomorrow," I said, planting a kiss on her forehead before watching her walk inside.

As I drove home, I couldn't stop smiling. Aylin was back in my life, and this time, I wasn't going to let her go. She was my everything, and I was determined to make sure she knew it every single day.
