Chapter 10

Max's pov

As I'm in the kitchen searching for food I hear my phone ringing. I go over and see it's my ex god what does he want.

" Connor " I say it stays still for a few seconds before hearing a "daddy dad is hitting me, I ran to my room locking the door to hide and now his banging on the door I'm scared daddy and I'm hungry. I haven't eaten anything since I got here "

" what! " I say pissed off at Connor hitting MY daughter and letting her starve this fucking bitch. " hold on baby it's all gonna be okay I'm coming stay on the phone with me "

I run to the house phone in the living room and called 911 first then called Daniel to come pick me up fast and go to my baby daddy's house.

We arrive shortly after the police and I see my daughter talking to a police officer. I see Connor getting arrested and got put in the back of a cop car.

" DADDY " Allison yelled running into my arms crying and scared my poor baby. " hey sweetheart are you okay? Did he hurt you? " I say checking her for any bruises.

A police officer cleared his throat I look up " i would like to ask you some questions sir " he say " okay Ali stay with Daniel okay sweetheart " I say and she nodded happily going to Daniel.

I go over to the side with the officer and answered all the questions he asked. I told him all about the threats Connor made the abuse that happened.

I thank the gods that the officer told me he'll go to jail for a very long time. The officer let me go and I went back to my daughter comforting her.

I ask Daniel to drop us off at my apartment and Allison was dead asleep on me. Daniel offered to carry Ali while I lead the way up.

After I open the door and lead him to Ali's room and closes the door behind us I hugged him tightly. " thank you so much " I whisper softly.

" your welcome, call me anytime you need. I'm always available for you " he says whispering back. " okay I'll hold one to that " I say.

" umm we can cancel the date till you and Ali feel better. I don't mind waiting. " he says. He knows what to say at any moment no wonder I fell in love fast.

" yeah sure, don't you need to take that the person has called three times in a row it must be important. " I say pointing to his phone in his pocket.

" not as important as you Maxy. " there goes the nickname calling again. I screamed on the inside okay now is not the time Max focus.

I nodded processing what he just said I'm way more important unbelievable my exes could never. They need to take information from Daniel on how to treat a man.

" I need to go. I'll see you..........later " he says unsure. " I'll call you when I have time tonight if I can " I say and a small smile made its way to his face.

We walk over to the door and I hug him tightly thanking him again. I place a kiss on his cheek before I pulled away and his cheek turned bright red.

I laugh lightly at him " I'm flustered that's all but at least I made you laugh " he says I smile when out of nowhere he kissed me on the cheek.

I blushed now it's his turn to laugh he pulled me in a hug one more time and went away. I hear small footsteps just as I close the door behind me.

" daddy I had a nightmare " Allison says raising her hands up I take her in my arms placing her on my hip and went to the kitchen. " okay why don't you tell me about while I cook something for you "

She told me all about how her father came back and took her away for me to another country. God this is unfair she shouldn't have these type of nightmare's so young.

She just five years old. She should have dreams about monsters under her bed or the boogie man in her closet not this.

I also blame myself for letting her stay at her father's house knowing he would do this thing. I place her on my lap after serving us both dinner I feed her first.

She sat on my lap waiting for me to finish my dinner. I brought her to my room and let her sleep here for the night and many more night's to come.
