♤Chapter Seven♤

Dayo
" Why did you say that?, why did you insult them?. They are your family you know" Dayo asked as he pulled a blanket over her body to shield her from the cold .

" How are they my family"
" They love you very much ,if you don't forgive them , what are you going to do without them?"Dayo explained.

" If they love me so much , then why aren't they here right now , caring for me just the way you are"Dabira asked.

" You told them to leave, didn't you , you literally drived them away. Maybe they don't want to get on your bad side.I guess"

" You don't even know what you are saying . You just said you guess" Dayo chuckled at Dabira's remark.

Maybe her family didn't really care about her like she had said. He was not in the best position to know whether or not they cared, he was not part of their family.

He turned towards Dabira who seemed quiet all of a sudden. She was fast asleep . He leaned towards her, then stopped. He didn't want to take advantage of her ,not while she was asleep or in this condition, or ever .She was truly beautiful.

"Police arrest this boy" Mrs Ayodele said.
"Young man, you are under arrest"The police officer said as he pulled Dayo.
"Excuse me"
"Excuse you , will you shut up . You want to keep my daughter away from me "
" Can we talk outside, she is asleep .I don't want us to wake her up,she may not like it. "Dayo explained in a calm voice.
" Hey ,what's going on here"
"Dabira ,nothing is happening, they just came to visit. You just go back to sleep okay " Dayo said as he rubbed her forehead with his fingers.
"Dayo , why is there a police officer in the ward"
" Hey Dabira , don't worry . Mummy is here to save you"
" Who am I getting saved from"Dabira asked with a raised brow.
" Dayo here"
"Excuse me"Dayo retorted .
"I honestly think the person she should be getting saved from is you .Mrs Ayodele , pardon me to say this but, you are a bad mother . Your daughter told you she didn't want to see you and you left when you know fully well, that she has amnesia and doesn't  remember  alot of things . Now you have returned and you have brought a police officer with you .Seriously ma'am you can't do this to me, I'm  just trying my best to help Dabira here because  she kind of means alot to me .Anyways it's no problem, you want to arrest me right. But I just want to make a quick call"

"You are free to make one , but do it quickly "The police officer said.
"No , don't let him make that call or you will  lose your job"
"Madam , he is entitled to make a free call. We normally  let people use this free call opportunity  in the police station, but I think he can just do it here .Make the call" The policeman said.

Dayo dialed a familiar  number.He knew it was only a matter of time, till Mrs Ayodele took matters into her own hands, so he had made a few calls the night  before in order to be one step ahead  of her.

"Hello commander . Good afternoon.  Your godson has gotten himself in a bit of trouble.  I was thinking you could  help me out of it "Dayo explained.

"Oh okay, put the person on the phone, he works for the police force doesn't  he"
" Yes sir" Dayo stretched the phone towards the police officer who collected it immediately.

" Hello sir" The police officer  said, as he stamped his left foot to the ground  as a sign of respect to the commander who was now yelling through the phone.

"Sure sir" The police officer said before passing the phone to Dayo, who slid the phone  into his pocket .

"Madam, please my boss has given me strict warning not to arrest this boy . I shall now take my leave".

"No you can't do this . This young man here has turned my daughter against me"

"If truly he has turned your daughter  against you , then I'm  sorry but it's  too late now"The police man  said as he walked out.

" I hate you, you have no  manners. Your  mother probably  didn't  train you well ,that's why you are acting like this "Mrs Ayodele yelled.

"At least she didn't  leave me in the hospital with a complete  stranger like you did to Dabira here. I pity her so much for having to be raised by a mean woman like you , I would have probably  died from the  embarrassment  of having such a woman like you as my mother. You know what Mrs Ayodele I'm  respecting you so much , I don't want to utter words that  might hurt you so please do yourself a favour and leave"Dayo said as he pointed towards the door.

" This isn't  the end ,I'll  teach you a lesson you will forever regret "Mrs Ayodele  yelled, as she walked out.
