The Cosmos weep with silence, for in its depths, terror reigns.DESTRUCTION'S EVE
The Cosmos trembled. Space itself seemed to writhe in agony as the planet of XANTHEA hung suspended, oblivious to its impending annihilation.
INSIDE THE ALIEN SPACESHIP
An unearthly horde seethed, their elongated bodies entwined with pulsating, electric strings. Translucent skulls blazed with an eerie, malevolent luminescence.
A lone figure emerged, shrouded in black robes that billowed like dark smoke. Eyes aglow with an otherworldly fury, the alien overlord towered, its presence crushing.
A blood-curdling, unearthly shriek echoed through the ship, shaking the metal hull. The overlord's gaze burned with an apocalyptic intensity.
A subordinate creature convulsed, its tendrils flailing wildly across the controls. The crimson button pulsed with an ominous energy.
ZERO HOUR
A blinding beam of destruction erupted, slicing through the void. It pierced Xanthea's atmosphere, causing the skies to churn with turbulent clouds. Lightning flashed, illuminating the darkness.
The beam's energy coursed through the planet's core, causing seismic tremors to shudder across its surface. Volcanoes long dormant began to stir.
As the beam continued its relentless path, the planet's very fabric started to unravel...
And then, everything went silent.
*LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL*
The bell rang, signaling the end of another school day. Students flooded the hallway, their laughter and chatter filling the air.
Kaius made his way to the classroom near the library, where he spotted his bestfriend; Dax, chatting with a girl he had a crush on.
Kaius leaned against the wall, eavesdropping on their conversation.
"See you tonight!" the girl said with a smile, waving goodbye as she walked out.
Kaius stepped into the classroom, grinning mischievously. "You need lessons bro!"
Dax chuckled, shaking his head. "Shut up."
"I mean it's so obvious she likes you," Kaius said, serious for a moment. "I don't know why you are not convinced."
Dax sighed, his expression turning thoughtful. "It's not that I'm not convinced... I just feel like she's playing me. Like I'm just a distraction since Ken dumped her two weeks ago."
Kaius rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "Tread carefully then. Anyway, you promised to take me to the new arcade center today, so let's go!"
Dax laughed, shouldering his backpack. "Okay...okay let's go."
Together, they left the school, eager to start their afternoon adventure.
As they walked out of the arcade center, Kaius exclaimed, "huh, who knew games could so addictive?"
Dax chuckled, "I know right? It's a whole new experience in there."
Just then, a sneering voice interrupted their conversation.
"I have to agree with that. Although, I didn't really expect to see you two goofs here, I mean, given the nerds you both are."Kaius and Dax turned to face their tormentors - three boys, notorious bullies at school.
"Hey, look who's got a date tonight!" the leader sneered. "I heard she's out of your league, Dax. You're gonna cancel, aren't you?
