"It was like it was trying to tell me that she was gonna be... okay.
That I was gonna see her again.That... she wasn't going to die!"
With a big nod, Dr. Jenkins turned off the wired helmet and removed it from Heavens' head.
Heavens rushed into his mother's arms, seeking comfort.
Dr. Jenkins, meanwhile, made his way into the next room, his fingers twitching with anticipation as he waited for the EEG results.
As he grasped the paper, Dr. Jenkins' eyes widened in astonishment.
"This child's brain activity is off the charts!"Dr. Patel nodded in agreement. "The alpha waves indicate heightened creativity, but the delta waves... that's fear."
The table was cluttered with Heavens' crude drawings, depicting a twisted, eldritch creature.
Dr. Jenkins' confusion deepened. "But th-this makes zero sense!
According to the school, nothing was found on the fields.
No claws, no scales, nothing. The only thing found were feathers, belonging to an owl."
Dr. Patel raised an eyebrow. "What are you suggesting?"
Dr. Jenkins hesitated. "I'm saying, if something did appear, we'd find evidence. But... there's nothing."
Dr. Patel countered, "but if nothing happened... where is Makayla?
The police have searched the entire state and found no DNA, no sign of her."
Dr. Jenkins argued, "the girl is missing, but heavens could be fabricating this.
Maybe it's just his imagination... or even a nightmare."
Dr. Patel pointed out, "such intense fear doesn't stem from a nightmare or imagination.
Plus, this monster keeps appearing in his art. It's possible it's his imagination, but what if it's more?"
Dr. Patel leaned in, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "What if this child witnessed something inexplicable?"
The air seemed to thicken with anticipation, as if the truth was lurking just beyond the edge of understanding.

Dax entered the library, walking through the bookshelves looking for Kaius. "Kaius...kaius?"
He whispered, trying not to make a lot of noise.Dax got yanked into the corner; he was ready to yell, but a hand covered his mouth. It was Kaius. He removed Kaius's hand from his mouth.
"Don't ever yank me like that again, ever" Kaius led Dax to his table, speaking rapidly.
"So we met this entity right... we were summoned by it. And in his words, he said he was the very essence of the multiverse.
But the what is a multiverse? We don't know, so I looked it up—"Dax cut him off, "hold up! Slow down. Breathe, kaius, breathe."
Kaius took deep breaths, his eyes locked intensely on Dax.
"Now, what are you talking about?" Dax asked.
"I'm talking about our encounter with the celestial."
Dax's brow furrowed."Encounter? That was a dream. That was a nightmare, actually."
Kaius's voice rose, his words laced with desperation.
