Dax found himself trapped in an endless, suffocating darkness. Suddenly, the scene shifted to his school's auditorium, where his classmates' mocking laughter and jeers assaulted him. Exposed and vulnerable, he stood naked, tears streaming down his face as he desperately tried to cover himself.

"Stop it... stop..." he pleaded, his voice trembling.

A familiar voice cut through the chaos.

"Dax?"

He turned, hopeful, and saw his mother. But her expression twisted into disgust.

"Mom...please help me," he cried out, his voice cracking.

His mother's words stabbed him like a knife.

"Oh my lord, Dax, you continue to embarass me every day!"

Dax's shock turned to horror, his heart racing.

"Mom?"

"Your sister would never do this! You're a disgrace to the family name!" she spat, venom in her voice.

Dax's voice shattered.

"Mom?"

"You always say I choose your sister over you. That, I love your sister more than I love you!

Well, why should I love you, a mess of a human being?" she sneered, her words dripping with malice.

Dax felt a dagger pierce his chest, his breath catching.

"Mom?"

"Don't ever in your miserable life call me that!
I would not have thought twice about getting rid of you if I knew you'd be such... such a curse!

And to think the better one almost died, death sucks cause, it should have been you!"

Agony ripped through Dax's heart, his world shattering.

He jolted awake, gasping for air, his panic attack consuming him.

Breathless, he stretched out his arm.

"M-mom?"

But only silence answered, leaving him feeling abandoned.

He pounded his chest, desperation clawing at him.

The stuck air finally escaped, and his ragged breaths slowed.

He sat up, staring at the door, longing for someone to check on him.

But no one came.

They never did.

Clarice, his little sister, was always the center of attention.

He wiped away tears, his self-loathing evident.

"Why am I crying?" he mocked himself, his voice laced with pain.

He fluffed his pillow, laid his head down, and held his chest.

Taking deep breaths, he tried to calm himself.

"Everything is fine."

Tears streamed down.

"Everything will be fine."

Desperation crept in.

"Everything has to be fine."
