After dinner and all the strategic planning had wrapped up, Carmilla was the first to rise from her chair, her movements fluid and unhurried. She stretched a bit, giving her arms a languid shake, then extended a hand to Laura with a slight tug.

— Goodnight, folks - Carmilla announced, her voice smooth but final.

Laura looked up from her seat, puzzled.

— Already? - she asked, her brows furrowing as she allowed Carmilla to gently pull her to her feet.

— Yeah, I'm beat - Carmilla replied with a casual shrug, though the gleam in her eye betrayed her true intentions.

— You're tired and she has to go too? - Danny asked with a touch of irony, her gaze flicking from Carmilla to Laura.

Carmilla didn't miss a beat.

— I just want to fall asleep beside my wife. Is that a crime, Ms. Secret Agent? - she shot back, a playful edge to her tone as she looped her arm around Laura's waist.

— Unfortunately, it is a crime in some countries - Kirsch chimed in with an unusually serious expression, earning a few chuckles from the table.

— Yeah, but not in this one - Carmilla said with a smirk. - So, we're off.

Laura, now standing beside her, nodded in agreement.

— Guys, I'm exhausted too, we had a long day. And honestly, after all this time, we can only really fall sleep if we're together. - She smiled warmly, giving Carmilla's hand a little squeeze, the quiet affection between them evident.

— That's really cute - Juliette said softly, her youthful innocence showing as she grinned at the couple.

— Oh, sweet, innocent child - Mel teased with a wicked grin. - It's barely 9 p.m., and I can promise you that what these two are about to do is anything but cute.

— Mel! - Perry exclaimed, her voice louder than usual as her cheeks flushed. - She's a child.

— I'm sixteen - Juliette interjected, her expression caught somewhere between pride and embarrassment.

Laf cut in, their tone firm.

— Don't say another word. Let's preserve the image of you as a young, innocent kid. We don't need to know more.

— Yes, please - Perry added, her eyes wide in a silent plea. - Let's steer clear of... Those topics.

Carmilla laughed softly, clearly enjoying the chaos her departure was stirring.

— Well, you can always come chat with me if you want to know more - she said, winking at Juliette. - And I'm sure Mel and Xena wouldn't mind filling you in on the details either.

— I'm here, kid - Mel replied, raising her hand.

Danny, ever the skeptic, shook her head.

— Please, talk to Morticia over there. I'm with Perry on this one. I rather not know about these...things.

Juliette, sensing the growing tension in the room, quickly backpedaled.

— Yeah... Maybe it's better if you don't know every single detail of my life.

— And with that, we bid you goodnight - Carmilla said, turning toward the staircase with a satisfied smile.

— Goodnight, everyone! - Laura called out, following close behind as they ascended the stairs, their fingers still intertwined.
