Rowan's POV:
I haven't talked to Tanner for a few days. Today is the wedding and he's picking me up in a bit so I need to start getting ready. I walk over to my closet and pull out a light blue dress with an lavender outline. I put that on and decide to do my makeup next. I dimply do light eye shadow, a thin line of eyeliner, mascara, and clear lip gloss. I curl my hair and braid one of the sides. I look back at myself in my mirror and give myself a nod and smile for approval.I put on my white heals and walked out into the kitchen to say bye to my mom. "Alright mom, I'm gonna go. Tanner will be here soon." She just stood there with her hands over here mouth. "What?" I asked confused. "Nothing, you just look so beautiful baby girl. I haven't seen you dress up for anything in a long time." I laugh and kiss her on the cheek, "Thanks mom. Tanner will drop me off by the way."
"Oh alright. So is Tanner a friend or..?" "We're just friends mom. He invited me as a friend only." "Alright, alright," she says as she puts up her hands in surrendering position. "Have fun and be back by 10:30." I waved bye and headed to the front of the apartment complex.
"Wow Rowan, you look stunning," I heard a voice say. I turned around to see Tanner in a suit. "Looking good yourself," I told him as I smiled. "Well, you ready to go?" I nodded and we headed over into his car. I'm assuming its his. In about 15 minutes,we arrived at this small chapel.
We walked in an immediately Tanner was recognized by everyone. There was a sort of large amount of people and the decor was beautiful. There was streamed lights everywhere with blue and lavender Hawaiian flowers connected along them. The cake was large with lacing patterns all around it, with the plastic bride and groom on the top. Everything at this wedding seemed perfect.
"Yo Tanner, my man, who's this?" an oder boy asked him. "This is my friend Rowan." "Hi," I said simply. "Hi, I'm Marco, Tanner's cousin. Now before I get ahead of myself, are you two a thing?" We both answer with a, "No." Marco smirked, "Well then, call me." I scoffed and laughed as he walked away. Tanner rubbed his neck as he turned back towards me, "Sorry about him." "Its fine," I told him.
We took our seats as the wedding song started to play and his sister, Charlotte, walked down the aisle. The groom's smile grew wider as the bride got closer to his reach. They wrote their own vows, which was sweet and heart warming.
"Cameron,
I hated you the second that I met you. I remember that moment. I was the girl who was anti-social and hated romance. You were and still are a sweet guy who changed my perspective on everything. I met you during gym when I tried doing pull ups on a high bar. I was slipping, and even though the fall on the gym floor would't have hurt, you were there to catch me. Ever since then, we've been a team. We were good friends, but that wasn't enough for you. Everyday, you tried harder and harder to with me, and eventually you won. You are the love of my life. Theres no one that I'd rather marry. I love you."He smiled/blushed and started his vows.
"Charlotte,
from the moment I caught you in my arms, I knew that we would become instant friends, and that I had to get you to love me. You are such a spontaneous and adventurous girl. You're the one. It definitely took me a while to get you to like me, but you did. I wanted us to last, so that one day I could get on one knee and give you my heart. Now, my hopes and dreams are becoming a reality. I love you Charlotte, and I want to be with you for the rest of my life."A few tears came down her face as her smile appeared. "Do you, Charlotte Buchanan, take Cameron Johanson, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do," Charlotte said with a smile. "And do you, Cameron Johanson, take Charlotte Buchanan, to be your lawfully wedded wife?" "I do," he said as he stared into her eyes. "Then by the power vested in me, I know pronounce you, husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.
The couple shared a beautiful kiss as we all stood up, applauding for the newly wedded couple.
It was getting late so I congratulated the happy bride and groom and got into the car with Tanner. "You have a good time tonight?" he asked. "Yea, it was a really great wedding. Thanks for inviting me." He just smiled and kept his eyes on the road.
When we got to the apartment complex, Tanner walked me up to our door. "Thanks again for tonight. I had a great time." I smiled and gave him a hug. When I pull away, his eyes are locked on mine. He does something that I didn't expect for him to do. He starts to lean in, but I immediately pull away.
"I'm sorry Tanner, I just..I can't," I told him as I took a step back. "I-I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking..I should go." He turned around and quickly left the complex.
Well that was unexpected.
