Peyton's POV:
Its a week into October, 2015. In a week, it'll be Rowan's birthday. Too bad I can't be with her to celebrate. I still don't know why she stopped talking to me. Its been a whole year, and I haven't talked to her since a little while after she moved. She stopped answering my calls and texts and I have no idea why.I really miss her. I still have to wait until March to see her, so I'll have to keep waiting. Anyways, today me, Bradley, Jake, and Austin are going to the basketball courts for a while. The court was only a 5 minute walk from my house, so I quickly went over there to see the guys grabbing the basketball, and starting to warm up. "Hey guys,' I said as I made it to the court. "Hey Peyton, you ready to shoot some hoops?" I nodded and grabbed the basketball.
While we were playing, the ball was thrown off court. When I went to go grab it, I see that someone had already grabbed it for me. "Loose something," she laughed as she bounced the basketball back to me. "Thanks, what're you doing here?" I asked. "Me and a few friends just wanted to come hang out at the park, so yea. I should get going, have fun with the guys."
"Wait G, you guys can come hang out with us if you want. We've been playing for a while, so I think we'll be fine," I told her. Might as well be nice. "Sure, thanks," she smiles and motions or her friends to come over.
For 30 minutes or so, we played some more basketball. "You guys want to to go the mall?" Bradley asked all of us. We all nodded and got into separated cars. The guys drove in my car and the girls went with G. When we got to the mall, I wasn't very social. We stopped at a few stores for the girls and some for the guys. Us guys only got small things like hats and basketball shorts, where the girls bought 15 things each. By the time we were done shopping, it was 7.
While we were sitting down at the food court, I decided to look through some social media. The guys were messing around, telling jokes and making us laugh. I was laughing and smiling with everyone until I looked down at my phone to see a picture that was just posted.
'Having fun at my sisters wedding with the one and only Rowan, what a great friend to have and tag along. Thanks for coming and congratulations to Charlotte and Cameron! I wish you the best in your marriage.'
It was a picture of Rowan and Tanner at a wedding. Tanner had just posted it a few seconds ago. My smile quickly fades when I see that she's with him. She hasn't been on social media for a year, so seeing how beautiful and happy she looks really hurts. I'm not mad about her being with Tanner that much, because they're just friends. I don' think that they would ever date, or I at least I hope they won't.
She truly looks amazing though. Rowan is still her beautiful self, but somehow she got even more stunning after just a year. God, this makes me miss her even more.
"Peyton, you okay?" Bradley asks and I simply nod and give a small smile. I'm not okay. Now I just need to get home and away from my friends for a bit. Luckily, Jakes mom offered to give the guys a ride, so I could leave. I waved by to everyone and started to head out. When I got home I looked at the picture that Tanner posted.
I decide to call her again, with the hopes that she'll answer, but it went straight t voicemail. Seems like she's really happy without me..
