Chapter 30: Change

Yu Ziyuan scoff and left the training accompanied by her two subordinates, YinZhu and JinZhu giving Wei Wuxian a deadly glare and walked off. Jiang Fengmian placed a hand on Wei Wuxian's  shoulder making him feel a little at ease.

 As the other was not fond of this type of situation, the younger man in purple rolled his eyes and left as well, he may be full of jealousy by now. He left the training ground and went to a specific place that no one knew neither his own brother and sister knew about. The place was beautiful as ever, the place was serene the purple petals fell on the ground as the wind touched a specific tree that he planted near a a lake with waters on the side.

 It has been a long time since he had touched the place, he expecting someone or one of the locals near by might find it and spread it around. Atleast he got the place to himself, sometimes he wonders when if he would get to share this beautiful place to someone. It would be a waste, that he'll be the only one to know about this side of Yunmeng Jiang.

He walked over to the tree that bloomed beautifully, as it's petals flew delicately touching his face and the ground. He saw some of his old carvings, on the tree that still looked very clear and visible like it was just newly carved down. He touched his old carvings on the tree, there were five stick mans carved down with a house around the five stick man with smiling face on them. With a word carving saying "Happy House", some of the spelling were not even correct due that he carved it at such a young age. 

He remembered that he would play with his dogs here and sometimes go for a quick swim. Not telling the servants were he had swam in, he stood up from the ground and decided to explore the place again after years not being able to visit the serene place that was used to be filled with silly and happy things any child would have. 

Jiang Cheng went over to the water fall near by, there was a cave behind it which was weird he didn't remember that there was even a cave.The only thing he remembered actually his memory of the place was already blurry so there must've been a cave here he just doesn't remember it anymore.

He stepped inside the cave to see a mesmerizing view of the cave it was dark but it is still very visible to the human eye. He could feel like it isn't right to go inside not knowing what will happen if he either enters. A drop of water hit his face he looked up to see water dripping, he immedtly left the cave and went back to the village of yunmeng.

 He saw the sky turning dawn, and start to think that his sister maybe was looking for him and so does his brother. As he arrived at lotus cove, there were less people around the place, Jiang Cheng raised his right eyebrow and went inside not to expect any important news or any visitors. His eyes widen, dumbfounded to see the GUSULAN Sect were here talking with his parents.

 His eyes immediatly landed on a specific person, that he wishes to see again, it hadn't been a few months since he had left Gusulan and now this man is back. Here at the main hall with Grandmaster Lan, his parents the ice block.

The man beamed at the sight of him, he was about to call out for his name but was immediatly cut off by a frustrated voice, he then turned his head towards the voice, Madam Yu having a frown on her face. 

"Where have you been?"

She spoke clearly not amused by her own son's sudden dissaperance this morning. Jiang Yanli was about to calm her mother to not lash out infront of the GusuLan Sect, but it was to late to stop now. 

"All of the servants have been looking for you?! where did you run off too this time!"

She said angerly, expected to see Zidian, to spark but it hadn't which was weird it always spark when she gets frustrated , maybe it only does when it is Wei Wuxian?

"Mom..."

"Quite! Do you know how tiring it is to worry when my own and one and only son can't be seen?"

Jiang Cheng's eyes widen 'Mother you were worried about me...? Since when?!' Jiang Cheng thought inside his ind looking down. His sister was the one who was always been worried for him and thought no one else does. He clenched his fist into a ball making his knuckles turn white then he spoke.

"apologies Mother."

Spoke the young jiang, it was kind of weird to be honest to hear the one and only The Violet spider, Madam Yu, and the Mistress of Yunmeng Jiang to say those words her son. But then again that is her son, she has the right to worry or not it depends on what person that is...

"never do that again!"

Jiang Cheng nodded he raised his head and saw that Lan Wangji is not here so does Wei Ying, thinking we're did those two went off too. After that, he immediately left the main hall and went around the town to get some fresh air, but something is still bothering him. And don't know what it was, he looked up from the dark sky as the starts shine brnight.

The town wa load as always, as the roads were lit up with many lanterns all around. As children begging there parents to buy them toys, lanterns, any children likes. He left the load place and went to a near by isolated peir next to some old boats that are still floating. His brother nowhere to be found on the town his sister was with there parents, and... him nderibg on the streets eating food that he found fancy in.

And then he smelled something so delicious that tasted very edible, the scent was sweet and spicy at the same time, and fresh cut grass in a rainy day. With a hint of sandal wood hoovering around the area, which was unusual he was sprouted with lotus flowers. How come such scent be so strong? In a place like lotus Cove, and then it hit, didn't the scent was sandalwood and he knew someone who smells like sandalwood.

He turned his head, to see who it was and of course the one and only. "It is a surprising sight to meet you here, at this hours Zewu-jun."

He said as he cupped his fist and bowed to Lan Xichen, and Xichen returned the bow to him with a smile.
"I did nor expect that, Zewu-jun would be visiting Yunmeng so recently."

He said as he walked a little closer to the light, Lan Xichen coukd finally see Jiang Cheng properly as his face hits the lights of the lantern. Wearing his
aquamarine and purple robe, with his black vest, his hair being half up and half down, as he hold his sword beside him.

"It is nice to meet you again, Young master Jiang. I do hope I didn't disturb you, if I did I sincerely apologize." He said with a soft calm voice, giving a resemblance of his sister.

"Well, would you like to have a roam with me through the town, young master jiang? For I maybe get to familiarize the place...?" The man asked, the Jiang nodded as he guided the man through out the town. Bringing him to specific places where people enjoyed going, they even visited many shops and looked at some thing's. As the Jiang does his own business, Xichen secretly buys thing's that he got fancy in. For example a hair clip, that had caught his eye immediately having it's unique design on it. Maybe one day he'll give this to someone or to him.

He looked at the young jiang who continues to talk as he guides him through, even though he already was familiar to the place he just wants an excuse to hear his voice. After long months of the lecture in GusuLan ended, he finally see his beloved. He doesn't understand why, why was he feeling like this? He wasn't before after those children of there's that came from the future, and also them visiting the future. Seeing g his little brother being so tall and strong, even though he hadn't had a chance to talk to his future self. As they said that they went missing or had died, so does Jiang Cheng.

Lan Xichen was wondering if they could maybe change that, but remembering Wei Wuxian's words, no matter how much they try to avoid. Nor tell and change anything, there future has been decided, even risking not marrying and having the Jiang and Lan alliance. The two would  still eventually, will have affection for one another. Only to realize he was completely in thought, to see that the Jiang had left him infront of the stall. Lan Xichen looked around the place hoping to find the Jiang, he was not familiar where he was now, he was mostly looking at the Jiang, barely listening.
