It was now early December, Fidelity and Ava had less than a week before the full moon, when they must venture back into the Forbidden Forest. Fidelity sat cross-legged on the couch, downstairs in the Room of Requirement, studying the map from the box, while Ava leaned over a stack of books on the nearby table, her brow furrowed in concentration.

"We've only got a week left until the full moon," Ava said, tapping her quill against the table as she scanned another page. "And we still don't know what kind of magic protects this hidden location."

Fidelity nodded, her fingers tracing the lines on the ancient parchment. "Professor Binns said the place is dangerous. But he also mentioned that the pendant is the key to getting in. If we can figure out how it works, maybe that'll give us an advantage."

Ava glanced at the crescent moon pendant lying on the table between them, its silver surface glinting in the light. "I wonder if there's more to it than just the full moon. Maybe there's a specific spell or incantation we need to use to activate it."

Fidelity chewed her lip in thought. "We should try to narrow down the location on the map first. If we can figure out exactly where the entrance is, we'll know where to go when the time comes."

Ava leaned over the map, her eyes scanning the faint markings. "There's something familiar about this... Look, see how the lines converge here?" She pointed to a spot that seemed to be near the edge of the Forbidden Forest, where the trees grew denser and the terrain more rugged.

Fidelity leaned in closer. "I recognize that. It's the same area we passed last time, right before we found the mooncalves."

Ava nodded. "That's what I was thinking. The map must be leading us deeper into the forest, but it looks like the path splits off here. We didn't notice it before because it's so faint."

Fidelity sighed, her stomach twisting with both excitement and anxiety. "We'll need to be ready for anything. If this place has been hidden for centuries, who knows what kind of protections are in place? But we're so close, Ava. I can feel it."

Ava gave her a determined look, her fingers lightly brushing the pendant. "We'll figure it out. We've got a week to prepare, and we've handled worse, right?"

Fidelity smiled, feeling a spark of courage rise within her. "Yeah, we have."

As they continued poring over the map and researching any spells or charms that might help them, the room seemed to shift with their growing sense of purpose. The map, the pendant, and the secrets they were about to uncover filled the air with a quiet tension.

The days slipped by quickly, and before they knew it, there were only three left until the full moon. The air had grown colder, the chill of December biting at their skin every time they stepped outside. Hogwarts was still dressed in a blanket of snow, the grounds quiet as the students began focusing on the approaching holidays.

In the Room of Requirement, Fidelity and Ava were deep into their preparations. The room had changed itself, now resembling a miniature version of the Forbidden Forest, with towering trees, dim lighting, and the eerie sound of rustling leaves. Fidelity stood in the center, her wand raised, practicing the protective charm, as well as others they had come across in one of their books.

"Protego!" she called, a shimmering shield forming briefly in front of her before flickering out.

"Better," Ava nodded, stepping through a patch of artificial moonlight that the room had conjured. "But we need it to hold for longer. If something goes wrong out there, we can't have it fail on us halfway through."

Fidelity lowered her wand, breathing out slowly. "I know. It's just—what if we're walking into something we can't handle?"

Ava crossed her arms, her expression determined. "We'll handle it. You saw the map—we're close, Fid. If we don't do this now, someone else might find the location, or worse... the magic there could disappear forever."
