The next morning, Fidelity woke up with a smile still playing on her lips, her thoughts immediately drifting back to the previous night. She replayed the kiss in her mind, the way the raindrops had felt cool against her skin, the warmth of Noah's hands, and the way everything had seemed to melt away in that perfect moment.
As she dressed for the day, her fingers brushed against the note in her pocket, momentarily pulling her out of her daydreams. The memory of the mysterious parchment brought her back to reality, reminding her that there were still unanswered questions lingering in the air. But before she could focus on that, there was something she needed to share with Ava.
After breakfast, Fidelity found Ava in the courtyard, where she was sitting with a book in her lap, soaking up the morning sun.
"Hey, mind if I join you?" Fidelity asked, her voice tinged with excitement she could barely contain.
"Of course not!" Ava replied, closing her book and smiling up at Fidelity. "You seem extra cheerful today. What's up?"
Fidelity settled down beside her, glancing around to make sure no one else was within earshot. "I have something to tell you," she began, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Noah and I... we kissed last night."
Ava's eyes widened in surprise and then lit up with excitement. "No way! Tell me everything!"
Fidelity's cheeks flushed with happiness as she recounted the events of the previous evening—the walk by the lake, the rain, the dance, and finally, the kiss. Ava listened intently, hanging on every word, her expression shifting from surprise to delight.
"Wow," Ava said when Fidelity had finished, "that sounds like something out of one of your romance novels! I'm so happy for you, Fidi."
Fidelity nodded, her heart still fluttering from the memory. "It was... perfect. I never imagined my first kiss would be like that."
Ava smiled warmly. "You deserve it. Noah's a great guy, and it sounds like he really cares about you."
Fidelity nodded, feeling a warm glow inside. But then she remembered the note, and the smile faltered slightly on her lips. "There's something else, though. I can't stop thinking about that note I found. I have this feeling that it's connected to something important. I think it might be hinting at something that happens under moonlight or some kind of time-sensitive event."
Ava considered this. "That makes sense. If it's time-sensitive, we might be running out of time to find whatever the note is pointing to. Maybe we should look for something related to moonlight or check for any events that might be happening soon."
"Good idea," Fidelity said, her mind racing with possibilities. "We should start by looking for any clues or events that might relate to moonlight. Maybe there's something happening tonight or soon that we should be aware of."
Ava nodded, standing up and gathering her things. "Let's head to the library and see if we can find any information about upcoming events or hidden locations connected to moonlight."
They made their way to the library, where the quiet atmosphere was perfect for research. Fidelity and Ava began poring over old school records and historical accounts, looking for any mention of moonlight-related events or hidden places.
As they sifted through the dusty books, Ava's eyes fell upon an old tome with an intriguing title: "Mysteries of Hogwarts: Hidden Places and Forgotten Magic." She carefully pulled it from the shelf and opened it.
"Hey, check this out," Ava said, pointing to a section about hidden places within the castle. "It mentions a moonlit ceremony that happens in the Forbidden Forest under the full moon. It's very rare and said to reveal hidden paths under the light of the full moon."
