After another long day of lessons, Fidelity gathered her belongings, feeling a familiar weight in her chest. She was lost in thought about Noah, wondering if he was alright. Just as she was about to head outside, she spotted him across the hallway, his expression a mixture of determination and uncertainty.

"Fidelity!" Noah called, making his way through the bustling crowd of students.

Her heart skipped a beat, a mix of anticipation and anxiety flooding her. He approached, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, a frown etched on his face. "Can we talk?"

"Of course," she replied, her voice steady despite the chaos of emotions swirling within her.

He led her to the Room of Requirement, the door appearing as they approached. Inside, she had expected her familiar sanctuary-the room Dilly cared for. Instead, she found a very small space. The floor was soft and padded, strewn with blankets and pillows. The only light came from the fireplace in the corner, casting flickering shadows on the walls.

Once inside, Noah hesitated, his gaze dropping to the floor. "I've been... thinking a lot," he started, his voice barely above a whisper. "About everything."

Fidelity felt a rush of emotions-relief, concern, and hope. "What's been bothering you? You know, you really hurt me, Noah."

He took a deep breath, the tension in his shoulders visibly relaxing for a moment. "I just... I hate that I hurt you, Fidi. I got your letter this morning, and it meant so much to me. But I didn't know how to respond. I was trying to deal with everything, but it felt overwhelming."

"What do you mean?" she asked gently, her heart aching for him.

Noah looked up, tears glistening in his eyes. "It's my parents. After we made things official, I told them about us. They... they reacted terribly. They don't approve of me being with a Hufflepuff. They think I should be with someone who fits their expectations, and they were angry and rude about it."

Fidelity felt her heart sink for him. "I'm so sorry, Noah. That's not fair."

He nodded, swallowing hard. "Luke has been supportive, but my parents... They just don't understand. They think I'm being foolish for wanting to be with you. I don't want you to face their hatred because of me. You deserve only love, and I hate the thought of you being hurt because of them."

"Noah, I want to be with you, no matter what they think," she replied softly, stepping closer. "You shouldn't have to go through this alone. I'm here for you, no matter what you're facing."

He shook his head, his voice trembling slightly. "I just don't want to drag you into my mess. I was scared that if I opened up, it would pull you down with me."

"You didn't have to shut me out," she replied, her heart breaking for him. "I want to support you, and that means being there through the hard stuff, too."

Before she could say more, Noah's emotions broke free. He crumpled into her arms, burying his head into her neck. She wrapped her arms around him, holding him tightly as they sank to the ground, his tears soaking into her shoulder. The warmth of his body against hers felt both comforting and heartbreaking.

"I'm so sorry," he sobbed, his voice muffled against her hair. "I didn't want to hurt you. I only wanted to protect you. I'm so, so sorry. I've missed you so much."

Fidelity stroked his hair gently, whispering soothing words as he let out all his pent-up feelings. "It's okay, Noah. I'm here. You don't have to apologize. I understand."

In that moment, it didn't matter that they had been apart; all that mattered was the connection they shared, the comfort of being there for each other. The fire crackled softly in the background, providing a sense of warmth as they embraced, surrounded by the cozy blankets and pillows.

Noah's sobs began to quiet, his breathing gradually evening out. He pulled back slightly, looking into her eyes, his own filled with vulnerability and remorse. "You make it sound so easy, but I've been so lost in my own head."

"I get it," Fidelity said softly, brushing a stray tear from his cheek. "It's okay to feel overwhelmed. We all have our struggles. Just remember, you don't have to carry this alone. I want to help you."

He nodded, his expression shifting from despair to something resembling hope. "I just... I don't want to let you down. I will never push you away again. You mean so much to me, and I feel like I've failed you."

"You haven't failed me," she reassured him. "You're human, and we all go through tough times. What matters is that we're here for each other now. We'll figure this out together."

As they sat there, surrounded by the softness of the room, Fidelity felt a sense of peace settle over her. She had missed him terribly during their time apart, but now, as they shared this moment of vulnerability, she could feel the bond between them strengthening.

"Noah," she said softly, her voice breaking slightly, "I love you."

His eyes widened in surprise, and then a gentle smile broke through his tears. "I love you, Fidi."

In that moment, both of them shed silent tears, their emotions intertwining as they shared the weight of their hearts. Together, they embraced the truth of their feelings, knowing that despite the challenges ahead, their love would be a guiding light.

Noah took a deep breath, his shoulders relaxing as he leaned back against her, seeking comfort in her presence. "I don't want to worry about what my parents think."

Fidelity wrapped her arms around him tighter. "Then let's focus on us. We'll take it one step at a time. No matter what, I'm not going anywhere."

His eyes met hers, and for the first time in what felt like forever, she saw a flicker of hope. Together, they could navigate this storm, and she knew they were stronger together.

"Thank you, Fidi," he whispered, his voice steadying. "I don't deserve you, but I'm so grateful to have you."

"You deserve all the love in the world, Noah," she replied softly. "And I'm here to remind you of that, every step of the way."

As they sat there, entwined in their shared warmth, Fidelity felt the weight of the world beginning to lift. There would be challenges ahead, but in this moment, they had each other, and that was enough.

They readjusted on the soft floor, and Noah laid his head in her lap. Fidelity continued to stroke his hair gently, feeling his breathing slow as he sank deeper into relaxation. The emotional exhaustion of the last week finally caught up with them, and before long, Noah's eyes fluttered shut, surrendering to sleep.

Fidelity watched him for a moment, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She continued to run her fingers through his hair, letting the rhythmic motion calm her own racing thoughts. Gradually, the warmth of the room and the sound of the crackling fire lulled her into a serene state, and soon she, too, drifted off into a gentle sleep, nestled in the comfort of their shared moment.
