The night of the full moon had finally arrived.

Fidelity stood at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, her breath forming small clouds in the chilly December air. The silver light of the moon bathed the trees in an eerie glow, making the shadows between them seem even darker. The forest, always intimidating, seemed almost alive tonight—its usual quiet pierced by the occasional hoot of an owl or rustling in the underbrush.

She glanced to her side, where Noah stood, his eyes fixed on the path ahead. He looked calm, though she could sense the tension in his posture. Beside them, Ava, Josh, Penny, and Cameron gathered in a small huddle, each of them checking their wands and murmuring quietly.

Josh, always the one to break the tension, shot a glance at the forest and then back at the group. "So, who's ready to get hexed by a tree first?"

Ava rolled her eyes but couldn't help grinning. "That's the spirit, Josh."

Fidelity chuckled, the small moment of humor settling some of her nerves. She reached for the crescent moon pendant in her pocket, its cool surface comforting in her hand. Professor Binns' warning echoed in her mind—places of significant magical energy were often protected, dangerous. But there was no turning back now.

Noah caught her eye, his expression softening. "We've got this, Fidelity," he said quietly. "We're with you."

She gave a small, grateful nod, and with one final glance at the group, she took the first step forward, leading them into the darkened forest.

The deeper they ventured, the more the air around them seemed to hum with an almost palpable energy. The trees here were older, their roots twisting through the ground like veins, and the path was less defined, as if it had been long forgotten by the outside world. Fidelity could feel the magic growing stronger, tugging them toward something unseen.

"According to the map," Ava whispered, holding it under the light of her wand, "we should be getting close to the clearing."

The group fell into a tense silence, the only sounds being the crunch of leaves beneath their feet and the occasional snap of a branch. Penny, walking just behind Fidelity, broke the silence. "Is it just me, or does this place feel... heavier tonight?"

"It's not just you," Cameron replied quietly, his gaze flicking around as if he were expecting something to leap from the shadows. "There's definitely something different about it."

Josh's voice cut through the silence, his tone light but his eyes wary. "I don't care what anyone says, next time we're sneaking into the kitchens. It's far less spooky there, and there are actual rewards—like food."

Cameron smirked, pulling out a small enchanted compass, its needle spinning wildly. "Whatever magic is here, it's interfering with everything. We're getting close."

Fidelity gripped the pendant in her pocket tightly. Her mind raced with thoughts of what they might find. Would the place be a ruin? A hidden sanctuary? She wasn't sure whether to feel excited or terrified.

After what felt like hours, the trees began to thin, revealing a large, moonlit clearing ahead. In the center stood a towering, ancient tree—the one from the map. Its silver leaves shimmered like stars, casting a faint glow around it. The pendant in Fidelity's hand grew warmer, reacting to the tree's energy.

"This is it," she whispered, her heart hammering in her chest. "We found it."

They stepped into the clearing, the air suddenly feeling lighter, almost electric. Ava, her eyes wide with wonder, pointed to the base of the tree, where intricate symbols had been carved into the bark, faintly glowing under the moon's light.
