Part 3. Chapter 1 The Trap

Resurgent Class Star Destroyer 'Finnalizer'
Main Bridge

"We got them in the middle of the evacuation." The captain of the 'Finnalizer' said happily.

"I have my orders from supreme leader Snoke himself, this is where we'll snuff out the resistance once for all. Tell Captain Canady to prime his dreadnouht..." General Hux spoke with a smug expression, but cut in the middle of a sentence.

But before General Hux could finish his order, a crewman from the sensor section shouted, interrupting him.

"General, we're detecting ships other than the Resistance's star destroyer! It's from the Galactic Remnant!" The sensor crew said this.

"W..where?" said a surprised General Hux.

"Behind us! However, the distance is still beyond the turbolaser's effective range. 6 ships, 1 star destroyer, and one cruiser-class ship, the rest are corvette-sized ships. Their fighters are already flying and approaching our position!" the sensor officer said.

Meanwhile, there was a psudomotion between the three star destroyers, and from the psudomotion came a very large ship, a Siege Dreadnought.

"Launch all our fighters! Intercept their fighters! Helm, keep our distance from them! We destroy the Resistance first before we attack them. Protect our dreadnought," General Hux ordered.

"Their fighter numbers are overwhelming! We're detecting over 1000 fighters of various sizes." The sensor officer replied.

"What? Where did those fighters come from? Are there other ships..." said general Hux, but he didn't have time to finish his words.

"Energy spike! They're firing!" said the sensor officer.

Star Destoryer 'Ilama'
Main Bridge

"They've walked into our trap!" said Admiral Kalaksa with excitement.

"Right, admiral. Fighter Control, deploy most of our fighters there! Let's keep them busy," said the XO.

"Prepare to fire spinal superlaser, all ships fire spinal laser at your discretion!" ordered Admiral Kalaksa.

"They won't realize that they are already in range of our spinal mount superlaser. They are doomed." The XO grinned broadly.

"Spinal superlaser ready," said weapon control.

"Fire!" ordered Admiral Kalaksa.

The six ships of the Galactic Remnant fired their spinal mount superlasers almost simultaneously. The spinal mout superlaser, with six segments on the bow of the 'Ilama', slammed into the Resurgent Class Star Destroyer closest to them with spectacular results. The superlaser beams shattered the star destroyer's shields, and some of the beams hit the star destroyer's hull. The shot struck the star destroyer from the rear, damaging the engines and, most unfortunately, destroying the reactor. This is because the reactor's position on the star destroyer is at the ship's back. The reactor's destruction rendered the hypermatter fuel uncontrollable, causing it to react uncontrollably. Moments later, the reactor also exploded and destroyed the Resurgent Class Star Destroyer.

Meanwhile, the battlestar aimed a 5-segment spinal mount superlaser and two 1-segment spinal mount superlasers at the Mandator IV Class Siege Dreadnought 'Fulminatrix', which had just emerged from hyperspace and its shields had not yet stabilized. As a result, the superlaser beams partly bypassed the shields of the 'Fulminatrix' and destroyed some of its aft engines. Even the motivator hyperdrive was damaged. Vacuum plasma and electric arc fires filled the aft section of the 'Fulminatrix', where the damage from the Galactic Remnant's ship had occurred. This caused the various systems inside the 'Fulminatrix' to become chaotic and malfunction.
