Julian's eyes narrowed at the cryptic text message. Who knew his plan? He couldn't shake off the feeling that someone was watching him.

Determined to uncover the truth, Julian paid a visit to his old friend and ally, Detective Inspector Ryder.

"Ryder, I need information on James Thompson's operations," Julian said, sitting in the detective's office.

Ryder's expression turned serious. "Julian, you know I've been investigating Thompson for years. But be careful, he's ruthless."

"I'm aware of the risks," Julian replied, his jaw clenched.

Ryder handed Julian a file. "This is everything I have on Thompson's business dealings. But there's something more... personal."

Julian's eyes locked onto Ryder's. "What is it?"

"A witness came forward, claiming to have seen Thompson's men at the Laurent family massacre," Ryder said, his voice low.

Julian's grip on the file tightened. This was the proof he needed.

Meanwhile, Emilia struggled to process the newspaper clipping she found. She couldn't shake off the feeling that her father was hiding something.

Emilia decided to confront Julian about his connection to her father. She arrived at his restaurant, her heart racing.

"Julian, we need to talk," Emilia said, her voice firm.

Julian looked up from the kitchen, his eyes guarded. "What's this about?"

Emilia's determination faltered for a moment, but she pressed on. "I know about the Laurent family massacre. What do you know about my father's involvement?"

Julian's expression turned cold, his eyes flashing with anger.

"You shouldn't be here, Emilia. Go back to your safe little world."

Emilia's eyes stung, but she refused to back down.

"I deserve the truth," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
