*Day 10*
Uxai's heart skipped a beat as the doorbell rang. He rushed to open it, hoping Lui had returned early.
But instead of Lui's warm smile, a stranger stood before him.
"Can I help you?" Uxai asked, confusion etched on his face.
The girl, stylishly dressed, ignored Uxai. "Lui! Where are you? I'm here, Lui!" she shouted.
Uxai's brow furrowed. "Miss, what's going on? Why are you calling Lui's name?"
The girl finally acknowledged Uxai. "Oh, you must be the roommate. Tell Lui that Sophia is here."
Uxai's unease grew. "I'm Uxai, Lui's partner. And you are...?"
Sophia's gaze faltered for a moment before she regained composure. "We're old friends. I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop by."
Uxai's instincts screamed warning. "Lui isn't here. He's away on business."
Sophia's smile seemed forced. "That's weird. He invited me to meet him here."
Uxai's grip on the door tightened. "I think there's been a misunderstanding."
Sophia's expression turned cold. "What kind of friend are you to Lui?"
Uxai's eyes narrowed. "I'm his partner."
Sophia sneered. "Save it, boy. Lui and I have history. He's my ex-boyfriend."
"I wanted to meet him," Sophia continued, "but it seems he's avoiding me."
Her gaze pierced Uxai. "You're just a distraction, a pleasure toy. Lui doesn't truly care about you."
Uxai's face remained calm, but his mind raced.
