"Jennie, where are you taking me?"

Jennie gently guided Taehyung up to the rooftop of the hotel, her voice filled with excitement.

"Just a second, be careful here," she said as they made their way to the top.

Taehyung had been about to head home with Jungkook, he hadn't even told Jungkook where he was going.

when Jennie had texted him, reminding him of their plans to meet up after work.

After Taehyung had quickly showered and changed, he returned to the hotel, where Jennie was waiting for him at the entrance.

Without explanation, she had then led him to unknown place.

Now, on the rooftop, Jennie carefully removed the blindfold from Taehyung's eyes.

"Surprise!" she exclaimed.

Her eyes shining with anticipation as Taehyung took in the breathtaking scene before him.

Dozens of small, flickering candles illuminated a table draped in a white cloth and adorned with red rose petals, along with a bottle of wine and two glasses.

Taehyung's eyes widened in awe, and he turned to Jennie, his expression filled with wonder.

"Jennie, this - god, it's really amazing," he said, his gaze locked with hers.

Jennie beamed, explaining that she had enlisted the hotel's help to create this special night for the two of them.

Taehyung smiled and nodded, and they proceeded to the table, where they enjoyed a delicious dinner and engaged in lighthearted conversation.

Jennie was overjoyed to have Taehyung there with her, and the evening felt truly magical.

As the night wore on, however, Jennie's excitement began to give way to intoxication, and Taehyung gently suggested they retire to her room.

"Jennie let's go, you're drunk you need to rest." He said getting up and catching her as she stumbled trying to get up, his arms tightening around her waist as she giggled and swayed in his embrace.

"No, I'm not drunk, I'm a good girl. And if I'm a good girl, you won't ignore me anymore and hate me," she said, her voice shaky, like she was both hurt and blaming him.

He reached out, gently cupping Jennie's face, trying to calm her down.

"I-I don't hate you-" he started, but Jennie just laughed. Of course, she was drunk.

"Then why, why did you ignore me? I came here just for you, but what have you done? You just ignored me like I don't exist, no text, no greetings," she said, her smile fake, hiding the hurt in her eyes.

Seeing how much she was hurting made him feel even worse.

"I don't hate you, Jen, it's just... I promise I won't ignore you anymore, okay?" he said, meaning every word.

"Promise?" Jennie asked, looking at him like she needed him to be real.

Taehyung smiled, feeling a little bit of hope. "Yeah, pro-" But before he could finish, a voice cut through the air.

"What's going on here?" A voice said. It was Jungkook. Taehyung's heart sank as he quickly moved away from Jennie, his eyes wide with panic.

Jennie turned to Jungkook, looking from Taehyung to the newcomer. "Oh, Jungkook? You came? Me and Taehyung were on a date," she said, her words a little slurred, as she looked up at Taehyung, who was super tense.

"A date?" Jungkook asked, staring at Taehyung, who wouldn't meet his eyes.

"Jungkook, it's not-" Taehyung tried to explain, but Jungkook's intense stare shut him down.

"Let's go, Jennie, let's get you to your room. You're too drunk," Jungkook said, his voice firm, his eyes never leaving Taehyung.

As he put a hand on Jennie's back, she swayed, getting even more drunk.

"Noooo, me and Taehyung were having a romantic time. We were dancing, you know, like this," she said, stumbling around, trying to show them their the dance.

"Okay, you will show me tomorrow. You need to rest." Jungkook said, his voice steady. He scooped Jennie up in his arms, like a princess, as she wiggled and protested.

"No, Taehyung, he's taking me. I wanna dance more." Jennie's pleas were ignored by Jungkook.

He carried her away, leaving Taehyung heartbroken and totally bummed.

"So, what was the deal? Seriously, Tae?" Jungkook asked, staring at Taehyung, who was now on the couch across from him.

After putting Jennie to bed, Jungkook and Taehyung had come home. The mood was super awkward, totally different from their usual playful vibes.

"Dude, it's not what you think. Jennie texted me to meet up, and when I got there, she had a surprise. I had no idea she was gonna do that," Taehyung explained, looking at Jungkook, who was listening closely, his face unreadable.

Jungkook let out a dry, humorless chuckle, totally unlike his usual laugh, making Taehyung feel uneasy.

The silence that followed was thick with unspoken questions and tension.

"She surprised you?" Jungkook then laughed again, this time with a hint of sarcasm.

After a few more of these unsettling chuckles, he finally said, "Well, I don't know what to say," his eyes meeting Taehyung's, who looked back at him with a guilty expression.

Jungkook's words hung in the air, making Taehyung feel trapped in his own mess.

"Jungkook, listen, I know you're totally into her. You were texting her back then, and she's into you, not me. It's just she got the wrong idea. We lied to her. So we gotta tell her the truth before things get messed up," Taehyung said, his voice barely a whisper.

He couldn't believe he was actually saying this. It felt weird, like a bad taste in his mouth, totally different from the awesome night he'd just had with Jennie.

Jungkook sighed, his shoulders dropping "Yeah, I know, I know, Taehyung, but I don't know how to do it. What if everything goes wrong? What if she hates me after she knows the truth?"

He rubbed his face, picturing Jennie's anger. The last thing he wanted was to see her mad at him.

Or hate him.

"We'll talk about this later, but please, I know this is totally selfish of me, but Taehyung, don't let her fall for you, please," Jungkook said, his voice full of desperation.

He turned and headed upstairs to his room, leaving Taehyung alone in the living room.

Taehyung groaned and ran his fingers through his hair. He was confused, helpless, tired, but definitely happy. He doesn't even know how Jungkook found out he was with Jennie.

The night he'd spent with Jennie was so unreal, so perfect, he wanted it to last forever.

He sighed, the weight of Jungkook's words pressing down on him. He got up and headed to his own room, the image of Jennie's smile stuck in his head.

Jennie looked totally fire in her crisp white dress, which hit just above her knees. The dress was super classy, and her sleek ponytail showed off her gorgeous face.

Taehyung couldn't take his eyes off her all night - she was just that stunning. The soft lighting made her glow, like she was straight-up glowing.

Taehyung was totally mesmerized, watching her every move, from the way she sashayed to how her eyes sparkled when she laughed.

He knew he couldn't let her fall for him, not when Jungkook was so into her. But the thought of her being happy, even if it wasn't with him, made his heart ache a little.
