Chapter 8

(Kanan pov)

Bright light shines in my eyes. I groan and blink. I shut my eyes again, then open them. Everything is blurry, but I can make out a green Twi'lek and a Mandolorian peering over me. "Kanan?" The Twi'lek asks.
I sit up slowly and pain shoots through my chest. I lie back down, cursing internally. Then I look up at the Twi'lek and realize who it is. "Hera?"
"Kanan!" Hera wraps me in a light hug. "Kanan, you're awake!" Sabine exclaims. "I'm going to go tell Ezra!" She rushes off and Hera lets go of me and smiles. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay, I guess. Is Ezra alright?"
Just then, Sabine comes running in with Ezra and the Jedi, Ahsoka, I think I heard her say. Ezra sees me and his blue eyes light up.
"Kanan! You're alive!" He grabs me in a hug and starts crying. "You're okay!"
"I'm alright, kid. I'm alright." I hug him back.

(3rd person pov)

As the entire crew of the Ghost (and Ahsoka Tano) gather around Kanan and rejoice at his well-being, the Empire has a new secret weapon to replace the Inquisitor.

The Labata class Imperial shuttle lands on Lothal. Agent Kallus stands at attention as Governor Tarkin gets off the ship.
"There have been reports of unrest all over the city. Some citizens see the Empire as weak. Vulnerable," Agent Kallus says nervously.
"Not to worry, Agent Kallus. The Emperor has sent an alternative solution." Tarkin pauses as rasped and heavy breathing walks down the open ramp behind him. Darth Vader, Dark Lord Of The Sith, has arrived to punish Lothal.
