Minutes laterDavid continued making his way up the mountain, his breathing steady and his steps determined. He couldn't help but think about the people he had just met. He took off his hoodie, feeling the cool mountain air against his skin as he pushed forward.
"I remember now... the old man... he's the one who trained Zenitsu to become a Demon Slayer, and that prick trained alongside him too," David said in disbelief as he recalled the characters from the flashback in the Mount Natagumo episode of the anime. He continued his run, the realization fueling his determination, until suddenly, another thought struck him.
"Wait a second... speaking of Zenitsu, where is he? Shouldn't he be there or something?" David said in surprise, sweat falling from his face as he noticed that Zenitsu wasn't around when he met both Kaigaku and Jigoro. "Perhaps I arrived here first, before Zenitsu," he mused, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
As David ascended the mountain, he encountered various obstacles: rocky terrains, dense underbrush, and steep inclines. Each step was a test of his endurance and willpower. The path became increasingly challenging, but he pushed through, driven by the desire to prove himself and earn Jigoro's training.
Hours passed, and the sky began to darken. David's legs burned with exhaustion, and his breath came in ragged gasps, but he refused to give up. He remembered Jigoro's words about determination and spirit, and it fueled him to keep moving forward.
Finally, as the first light of dawn began to break, David reached the peak of the mountain. He stood there, panting heavily, taking in the breathtaking view. The sunrise painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, and for a moment, he felt a sense of profound accomplishment.
"So... there it is. I made it to the top of the mountain," David said, his entire body covered in sweat, his legs about to give out. "This shit reminds me of Tanjiro's first test with Urokodaki," he said, looking around his surroundings. Suddenly, his stomach rumbled with a sign of hunger.
David took out the small food, which included two rice balls and a small flask of water that the old man at the village had given him. After a few minutes of eating, David found that his stamina had been slightly restored.
"Alright, I think I'm good now. I just need to go back down that mountain to meet Jigoro again and prove to that prick that I'm not weak," David said to himself, his eyes filled with determination. "I really hope there's no traps here like the ones Tanjiro went through," he added cautiously before starting his descent down the mountain.
As David began making his way down, he stepped carefully, wary of potential traps. However, his caution wasn't enough. His foot suddenly triggered a hidden mechanism, and he barely managed to catch himself before falling into a concealed pit.
"Shit, that was close," David muttered, his heart pounding in his chest. He looked around more carefully, realizing that this descent would be even more challenging than the climb. Every step had to be calculated to avoid the dangers that lay hidden.
